On April 17th, reporters joined the "New Quality Productive Forces in Guangzhou" media fact-finding tour and traveled deep into Panyu District to visit three leading local AI companies, exploring how they are carving out paths to profitability across the consumer, manufacturing and content sectors.
On the consumer side, AI baristas made by Guangdong Kuku Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. stood out as a highlight. Its six-axis collaborative robot arm can prepare a freshly brewed cup of coffee topped with 3D latte art in just 60 seconds. According to CEO Li Tong, the product has already achieved commercial profitability, with each machine paying for itself in about 10 months and generating average daily revenue of more than 5,000 yuan. The company has shifted from simply selling equipment to a three-pronged monetization model based on hardware sales, revenue sharing and software subscriptions, enabling each store to reduce labor costs by more than 60%. The equipment is now fully domestically produced, with over 90% of its components manufactured in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

On the manufacturing side, robots made by Li-Gong Industrial Co., Ltd. are no longer confined to demonstrations. They are working directly on the production line. In the workshop, reporters saw robots independently handling transport, processing and assembly tasks, while the entire shop floor required only two workers. Cheng Nan, Director of Public Affairs, said that the company has received orders for more than 1,000 robots, more than half of which have been exported to Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia, with prices ranging from 200,000 yuan to 600,000 yuan. Its globally launched ChiroSync Glove is equipped with 162 motion-capture points, enabling the digital preservation of veteran technicians' hand movements for robots to replicate with millisecond precision.
On the content side, Guangzhou Zhuoyuan Virtual Reality Technology Co., Ltd. is focusing on taking XR devices overseas. Chairman Yang Xuyun said the company's proprietary motion-control algorithm addresses the problem of motion sickness, which has helped lift the share of overseas revenue from between 10% and 20% two years ago to nearly 60% in 2025, with the figure expected to reach 70% in 2026. The company has also expanded into sports applications by embedding outdoor settings such as Dafushan Forest Park into treadmills. Guangzhou is now home to more than 3,000 companies related to intelligent equipment and robotics, forming a pattern of differentiated development across its districts.
