On the evening of February 14th, the 2026 Jieyang ICH Public Showcase officially opened at Xuegong Square in Jieyang. The event will run for four consecutive nights in the core area of the ancient city of Jieyang. The first evening featured a range of national and provincial intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items, including dragon and lion dances, Chaozhou Opera, and Nanzhi Quan.

At 8 p.m., the dragon dance performed by Kwok's Kung Fu & Dragon Lion Dance Team took the stage. The golden dragon soared and spiraled through the air, symbolizing favorable weather and national peace and prosperity, instantly igniting the atmosphere. The subsequent lion dance performance pushed the excitement to a climax.

Selected excerpts from Chaozhou Opera, including "Peach Blossom with Ferry Crossing" and "A Heart for Home and Country," were passionately performed by a group of seasoned Chaozhou Opera artists. With melodious tunes and heartfelt expression, the performances resonated deeply with the audience, evoking fond memories of their hometown opera.

The martial arts segment showcased Jieyang's long-standing tradition of valuing both literary and martial pursuits, as if recreating the glorious history of the Ming and Qing dynasties, when Jieyang produced 23 military metropolitan graduates and 77 military provincial graduates.

According to organizers, the showcase will continue to feature more outstanding intangible cultural heritage programs, including Yingge dance, lion dance, Chaozhou Opera, Chaozhou music, and paper-cutting, aiming to allow more residents and visitors to experience the charm of Jieyang's intangible cultural heritage up close.

舞龙舞狮潮剧武术轮番登场！2026年揭阳市非遗惠民展演活动启幕

2月14日晚，2026年揭阳市非遗惠民展演活动在揭阳古城学宫广场正式拉开帷幕，一连四晚在古城核心区上演。首晚演出涵盖舞龙、舞狮、潮剧、南枝拳等多项国家级、省级非物质文化遗产项目。

20时整，郭奕群龙狮武术馆的舞龙表演率先登场。金龙翻腾、盘旋起舞，寓意风调雨顺、国泰民安，瞬间点燃现场气氛。随后上演的舞狮表演更是将现场气氛推向高潮。

潮剧选段《老桃花过渡》《心悬家国》由一众资深潮剧演员倾情献演，曲韵悠扬、情感真挚，唤起观众对家乡戏的深切共鸣。

武术表演环节展现了揭阳“崇文尚武”的传统，仿佛再现明清时期揭阳走出23位武进士、77位武举人的辉煌历史。

据介绍，活动接下来将继续呈现更多非遗精品，涵盖英歌、狮舞、潮剧、潮乐、剪纸等非遗项目，力求让更多市民和游客近距离感受揭阳非遗的魅力。
