From February 11th to 13th, the "2026 Happy Chinese New Year—Walking Reunion Dinner on Chinese New Year's Eve" Chaozhou special event hosted two consecutive grand feasts in Frankfurt, Germany. A team of master chefs from Chaozhou, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, prepared an aromatic New Year's Eve dinner, showcasing the national intangible cultural heritage of Chaozhou cuisine. Over 400 Chinese and German guests gathered to enjoy the flavors of Chaozhou, appreciate its intangible cultural heritage, and celebrate the Chinese New Year, ushering in people-to-people exchanges between China and Germany in the Year of the Horse.

The event was meticulously designed in two parts:On February 11th, the spotlight was on 12 auspicious New Year's Eve dishes, showcasing the ceremonial refinement of a classic Chaozhou banquet. On February 13th, a buffet featured Chaozhou specialty snacks such as marinated goose, handmade beef balls and peach-shaped kueh (rice cake), offering guests an immersive culinary experience of everyday Chaozhou cuisine.

Huang Yiyang, Chinese Consul General in Frankfurt, said that culinary culture serves as an important bridge for cultural exchanges among nations. The feast not only offered an unforgettable gastronomic experience, but will also further brought China and Germany closer together, fostering cultural exchanges and deeper mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Since 2016, the "Walking Reunion Dinner on Chinese New Year's Eve" has traveled to dozens of countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden, becoming an important platform for bringing Chinese cuisine to the global stage. In 2026, the event has also received invitations from Chinese embassies and consulates as well as cultural centers in Grenada, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea, helping "Guangdong flavors" spread across the globe.

潮州用一桌年夜饭，在德国法兰克福讲好中国故事

2月11日至13日，“2026年欢乐春节——行走的年夜饭”潮州专场活动在德国法兰克福接连举办两场盛宴。来自“世界美食之都”的国家级非遗潮州菜烹饪大师团队，在异国他乡烹出了一席鲜香四溢的潮州年夜饭。400多位中德嘉宾一同品潮味、赏非遗、贺新春，奏响了马年中德民间交流的序曲。

活动分两场精心打造：11日的活动以十二道寓意吉祥的年夜菜为主角，尽显潮州宴席的仪式感；13日的活动，自助餐主打卤鹅肉、手打牛肉丸、红桃粿等潮州特色小吃，让宾客沉浸式体验潮味日常。

中国驻法兰克福总领事黄昳扬表示，美食文化是各民族文化交流的重要桥梁。这场盛宴不仅带来了难忘的味觉体验，也必将进一步拉近中德距离，促进文化交流与民心相通。

自2016年起，“行走的年夜饭”已先后走进英国、德国、瑞典等几十个国家和地区，成为中华美食走向世界的重要载体。2026年，这一活动更收到中国驻格林纳达、英国、韩国等多个使领馆及文化中心的邀请，助力“广味”香飘四海。
