The hope of China-US relations lies in the people, its foundation is in the two societies, its future depends on the youth, and its vitality comes from exchanges at subnational levels.

From January 10th to 11th, the One Voice Children's Choir from the United States visited Guangzhou for a two-day program of cultural exchange and performances. Using music as a shared language, Chinese and American teenagers bridged distances through singing and interaction, infusing China-US people-to-people exchanges with sincerity and warmth.

On the afternoon of January 10th, members of the choir ascended the Canton Tower, one of Guangzhou's most iconic landmarks, to take in the city's rapidly evolving urban landscape. As the familiar melody began, the youth from both countries stood side by side and jointly performed the classic Cantonese song"Friends". Their clear and youthful voices echoed high above the city, creating one of the most touching moments of the day.

Cody, a member of the One Voice Children's Choir, said in an interview that singing a song about friendship together with new friends from China was meaningful. He noted that friendship can be so powerful that even though we don't live in the same place, friendship can span oceans and bring people's hearts closer together.

That evening, the choir took a night cruise along the Pearl River, experiencing Guangzhou's rapid development and urban vitality amid the city's dazzling nightscape. Abbylynn, one of the choir members, celebrated what she described asher "favorite birthday yet" aboard the vessel. Brimming with excitement, she told reporters, "This is my first time coming to China, and I love Guangzhou." She also noted that people here are so kind and warm to one another, and she really likes China.

On the evening of January 11th, the One Voice Children's Choir presented a New Year concert at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the citizens of Guangzhou, conveying blessings and joy for the new year through their pure voices. During the concert, the choir also joined young performers from the Liwan District Youth Palace to sing the original song "We Are Together", striking a resonant chord of cultural exchange and friendship between China and the United States.

This visit was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality and the Guangzhou Youth Federation. It represents a vivid practice of Guangzhou's efforts to implement the initiative of "inviting 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years", and forms an integral part of the series event "Global Youths Explore Guangzhou". In recent years, Guangzhou has consistently hosted multiple groups of American youth, promoting deeper exchanges in culture, education, science and technology, and injecting sustained youthful energy into the steady and long-term development of China-US friendship.

以歌会友，中美友好在青年身上有了“温度”

中美关系希望在人民，基础在民间，未来在青年，活力在地方。

1月10日至11日，美国 One Voice 儿童合唱团走进广州，开展为期两天的文化交流与演出活动。中美青少年以音乐为媒，在歌声与互动中拉近彼此距离，为中美人文交流注入真挚而温暖的情感。

1月10日下午，合唱团一行登上城市地标广州塔，俯瞰这座城市日新月异的城市风貌。伴随着熟悉的旋律，来自中美两国的青少年并肩而立，共同唱起粤语经典歌曲《朋友》，清亮的童声在高空回荡，成为当日最动人的画面之一。

One Voice 儿童合唱团成员 Cody 在接受采访时表示，能与中国的新朋友们共同演唱这首关于友谊的歌曲，让他感到既有意义也十分动听。“友谊是一种充满力量的情感，即便身处不同国家，也能跨越山海，拉近彼此的心。”

当晚，合唱团乘船夜游珠江，在流光溢彩的城市夜景中感受广州的发展速度与都市活力。合唱团成员 Abbylynn 在游船上度过了她“最喜欢的一次生日”。面对记者，她难掩兴奋地说：“这是我第一次来到中国，我爱广州。这里的人彼此亲近、充满善意，我真的很喜欢中国。”

1月11日晚，One Voice 儿童合唱团在中山纪念堂为广州市民献上一场新年音乐会，用纯净的童声传递新年的祝福与喜悦。音乐会上，合唱团还与荔湾区少年宫青少年携手，共同演绎原创歌曲《We Are Together》，以歌声奏响中美文化交流与友谊的动人乐章。

此次访问交流活动由广州市政府外办联合广州市青年联合会共同组织，是广州落实“未来五年邀请五万名美国青少年来华交流学习”倡议的生动实践，也是“全球青年看广州”系列活动的重要组成部分。近年来，广州持续接待多批美国青少年团体，推动两国青年在文化、教育、科技等领域的深入交流，为中美友好关系行稳致远不断注入青春力量。
