In Paris on January 10th and 11th, 2026,conductor Xu Zhong led the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre de Paris Chorus in a French aria gala titled "Xu Zhong and the Orchestre de Paris: Heroines of French Opera." Joined by five Chinese and international opera singers Shen Yang, Zhang Meigui, Stéphanie d'Oustrac, Julie Fuchs and Thomas Bettinger, the concert was held at the Philharmonie de Paris to full houses on both nights, with an enthusiastic atmosphere throughout.

In fact, both the Orchestre de Paris and the Philharmonie de Paris share a longstanding connection with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). In November 2004, the orchestra, under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach, brought together 133 musicians to give a memorable performance for audiences in Guangdong. As 2026 unfolds, more good news has arrived. Following its recent successful collaboration with Xu Zhong in Paris, the Orchestre de Paris will make a high-profile return to the GBA in April under its newly appointed Chief Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, reuniting with violinist Renaud Capuçon, who last collaborated with the orchestra 22 years ago, to present two consecutive major French music concerts for local audiences.

At present, a brand-new music landmark is taking shape in the GBA— the Shenzhen Opera House. The designer of this performing arts venue is Jean Nouvel, the internationally renowned architect and the 2008 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, who also designed the Philharmonie de Paris, home of the Orchestre de Paris.

Upon learning that the reporter was from the GBA, Olivier Mantei, General Manager of the Philharmonie de Paris, said, "The recent aria gala by Maestro Xu Zhong and the Orchestre de Paris was a deeply moving success. Looking ahead, we very much look forward to visiting this region and exploring the new venue. Only by being there in person can bridges of communication be built naturally. We hope to work hand in hand with Chinese artists to nurture new collaborative projects together."

一场音乐会牵出中法艺术20年情谊

当地时间2026年1月10日、11日，指挥大师许忠执棒巴黎管弦乐团及合唱团，携手沈洋、张玫瑰、斯蒂芬妮·杜斯特拉克、朱莉·福克斯、托马斯·贝廷格5位中外歌唱家呈现的法国咏叹调专场音乐会《许忠与巴黎管弦乐团：法国歌剧中的女英雄们》，在巴黎爱乐大厅成功上演。两场演出均座无虚席，现场气氛热烈。

事实上，巴黎管弦乐团、巴黎爱乐大厅均与粤港澳大湾区有着匪浅的缘分。2004年11月，巴黎管弦乐团在指挥家克里斯托夫·艾森巴赫的带领下，集结133位成员为广东观众献上精彩演出。迈入2026年，好消息传来：刚刚与许忠在巴黎成功合作的巴黎管弦乐团，将在新晋首席指挥埃萨-佩卡·萨洛宁的带领下，于4月重磅回归，同22年前合作的小提琴家雷诺·卡普松再携手，为大湾区观众呈现一连两场年度法国音乐大赏。

眼下，一座全新的音乐殿堂正在粤港澳大湾区蓄势——深圳歌剧院。这座大湾区艺术新殿堂的设计师，正是巴黎爱乐大厅（巴黎管弦乐团主场）的设计者——2008年普利兹克奖得主、国际建筑大师让·努维尔。
