Since the 2025 National Day holiday, China's self-drive tourism market has remained active, with trip volumes consistently exceeding those of the same period in 2024. According to the latest data released by Zuzuche, a global car rental platform for self-drivetours, as of January 8th, bookings for self-drive tours during the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday continue to rise, with demand for outbound self-drive travel up 17% year-on-year.

In terms of destinations, "homecoming travel" and "leisure travel" proceed in parallel. Popular homecoming destinations include Chengdu, Fuzhou, Dongguan, Jieyang, Guiyang and Wuhan, while leisure travelers prefer cities such as Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming, Sanya, Haikou, Beijing and Xi'an. Travelers increasingly favour combined transport options such as "flight or high-speed railway plus car rental." Among these, Guangzhou stands out as the most popular choice for winter escapes, owing to its cultural offerings, delicious cuisine, and warm climate. Following Hainan's island-wide special customs operations, duty-free shopping has surged in popularity, sustaining the boom in self-drivetours combining shopping with winter escapes.

During the Chinese New Year holiday, popular destinations for overseas self-drive trips include New Zealand, Australia, Norway, Italy, Thailand, Iceland, and Turkey.

With summer underway in the Southern Hemisphere, demand for self-drive tours in Australia and New Zealand has risen by over 30% month-on-month. In Northern Europe, aurora viewingcontinues to draw travelers, with self-drive demand in Norway up 21% year-on-year, and some vehicle models requiring reservations two months in advance. Following the announcement of visa-free travel policies, Turkey has seen its self-drive bookings during the Chinese New Year surge by more than 80% month-on-month.

自2025年国庆以来，国内自驾游市场持续活跃，出游人次始终高于2024年同期。根据全球自驾游平台租租车最新数据，截至1月8日，2026年春节自驾游预订量持续上升，其中出境自驾需求同比增长17%。

目的地方面，“返乡流”与“旅游流”并行。热门返乡地包括成都、福州、东莞、揭阳、贵阳、武汉等；旅游目的地则集中在广州、成都、昆明、三亚、海口、北京、西安等地，游客更青睐“飞机/高铁+租车”的联运出行方式。其中，广州凭借文化、美食与温暖气候，成为南下避寒最热门的选择。海南全岛封关后，免税购物热度攀升，“购物+避寒”自驾游持续火爆。

春节期间，出境自驾热门地包括新西兰、澳大利亚、挪威、意大利、泰国、冰岛、土耳其等。

南半球正值夏季，澳新自驾需求环比增长均超30%；北欧则以极光景观吸引游客。挪威春节自驾需求同比增长21%，部分车型需提前两月预订。土耳其免签政策发布后，其春节自驾预订量环比增长超80%。
