On December 24, Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport reported an annual passenger throughput exceeding 10 million, marking its official entry into the ranks of China's major airports. It is the fourth airport in Guangdong to reach this milestone, following Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport.

To celebrate this landmark achievement, a lively event was held at Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport that day. The "10-Million Market" set up in the airport's departure hall was bustling with crowds. The vigorous Yingge folk dance drew travelers to stop and applaud, while the Kung fu tea ceremony imbued with distinctive Chaoshan charm showcased the region's hospitality.

As a seasoned traveler who has made frequent trips between Chaoshan and Hubei over the years, Shen Haiying has witnessed the transformation of transport infrastructure in Chaoshan. "In the past, most flights were scheduled at night, with limited options. Now Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport offers more flight routes and denser schedules, and transport to Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang has become increasingly convenient, significantly enhancing the travel experience," she said.

Annual passenger throughput surpassing 10 million marks a milestone in the development of Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport. This achievement also signifies a notable enhancement in the aviation hub's operational capacity and regional reach of eastern Guangdong, serving as a vivid illustration of the region's high-quality economic and social development.

广东第四个千万级机场诞生，揭阳潮汕国际机场年旅客吞吐量突破1000万人次

12月24日，揭阳潮汕国际机场年旅客吞吐量突破1000万人次大关，标志着该机场正式跻身全国大型机场行列。这是继广州白云国际机场、深圳宝安国际机场、珠海金湾机场之后，广东第四个年旅客吞吐量超千万的机场。

当天，为庆祝这一关键性突破，一场热闹的庆祝活动在揭阳潮汕国际机场举办。机场出发大厅设置的“千万集市”人头攒动，刚劲有力的英歌舞民俗表演引得旅客驻足喝彩，独具潮韵的工夫茶艺表演尽显待客之道。

作为常年往返潮汕与湖北的“老旅客”，沈海英亲历了潮汕的交通蜕变。她表示：“以前汕头老机场航班多在晚上，选择不多。现在揭阳潮汕机场航线多了、班次密了，通往汕头、潮州、揭阳的交通也越来越方便，出行体验大幅提升。”

年旅客吞吐量突破1000万人次，是揭阳潮汕国际机场发展历程中的里程碑，也标志着粤东地区航空枢纽能级与区域辐射力明显提升，更是粤东经济社会高质量发展的生动写照。
