On December 9th, the athletics events of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympics Games kicked off at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center Stadium. As the most participated sport in the Games, athletics features the highest number of delegations, athletes, disability categories, classifications, and events. A total of 53 gold medals were awarded on the opening day, with the Guangdong team claiming the first gold.

In the women's 100m T64 final, athlete Jiang Yanhong from Guangdong Team 1 clinched the gold with a time of 14.99 seconds. This victory marked the first gold medal in athletics at the Games, giving the Guangdong athletics team  a strong start. Yin Jiaxin from Guangdong Team 2 secured the silver in the same event.

On the day, the Guangdong team earned a total of six gold medals in athletics. In addition to Jiang Yanhong, gold medals were won by Yang Yifei in the men's 100m T36 final, Zhang Yasi in the men's 1500m T53 final, Liang Yanfen in the women's 100m T12 final, Chen Xiaochun in the women's 1500m T54 final, and Zhou Guohua in the women's long jump T11 final.

After winning the gold, Liang Yanfen, a visually impaired post-00s athlete, shared the joy of victory with her guide runner Tian Haoyu. The two became partners earlier this year, and this gold is their first individual title as a team. Tian Haoyu said, "This gold medal fulfills Yanfen's dream, my dream, and also brings honor to Guangdong."

When asked about their future plans, they smiled and said, "What do we plan to do after winning the gold? Keep winning more!"

开门红！广东队残特奥会首日揽6金

12月9日，残特奥会田径项目在广东奥林匹克体育中心体育场拉开帷幕。这是此次残特奥会各项中参赛代表团及运动员最多的项目，也是残疾类别、级别、小项最多的项目。当日决出53枚金牌，广东队夺得首金。

在女子100米T64级决赛中，广东一团运动员蒋艳红以14.99秒的成绩夺冠。这是本届残特奥会田径比赛的首金，为广东田径队赢得“开门红”；广东二团选手尹佳欣获得该项目的第二名。

据悉，在当日田径赛事中，广东队共斩获6枚金牌。除了蒋艳红之外，男子100米T36级决赛选手杨义飞、男子1500米T53级决赛选手张亚四、女子100米T12级决赛选手梁燕芬、女子1500米T54级决赛选手陈晓纯、女子跳远T11级决赛选手周国华分别摘得所在项目的桂冠。

夺冠后，“00后”视障运动员梁燕芬与领跑员田皓宇一同分享着这枚金牌带来的喜悦。二人在今年成为搭档，这枚金牌是他俩合作后取得的第一枚单项金牌。田皓宇表示：“这枚金牌既圆了燕芬的梦，也圆了我的梦，还为广东增添了一份荣誉。”

聊到未来，二人笑道：“拿了金牌之后想做什么？继续拿！”
