In 2024, Guangdong's total aquatic product output reached 9.66 million tons, a 10.34 % increase compared with the end of the 13th Five‑Year Plan (2020). Among this, marine aquaculture output hit 3.77 million tons, growing 13.76 %—the fastest rate since 2011. The province's total output value of fishery reached 209.78 billion yuan, up 30.4 %, while the per capita net income of fishermen rose to 27381.84 yuan, an increase of 22.38 % over the same period.

Guangdong's marine fishery industry have achieved multiple national firsts:it ranks first nationwide in total aquatic product output, fishery output value, aquaculture output, and marine fish farming output.

In  2024,  Guangdong produced 6.8 billion marine fish fry, accounting for about half of China's total and maintaining its lead for seven consecutive years. The province issued and implemented China's first overall plan for the development of modern marine ranching. It took the lead nationwide in breaking through artificial breeding technologies for species such as large yellow croaker, red drum, and mackerel. Within the province, it achieved the full‑cycle artificial breeding of coral trout  and sea bass. Domestically, it pioneered land-based recirculating aquaculture and feed domestication for yellowfin tuna. A series of innovative intelligent aquaculture equipment were launched, including the nation's first liftable truss net cage and the first floating dynamic positioning aquaculture platform. To date, Guangdong has built 7498 gravity deep-water cages, ranking first nationwide.

广东渔业拿下N个全国冠军

2024年广东水产品总产量966.37万吨，比“十三五”末（2020年）增长10.34%；其中海水养殖产量达376.83万吨，增速创2011年以来新高，比“十三五”末增长13.76%；渔业产值2097.81亿元，比“十三五”末增长30.4%；渔民家庭人均纯收入27381.84元，比“十三五”末增长22.38%。

广东海洋渔业创下N个第一：水产品总产量全国第一，渔业产值全国第一，水产养殖产量全国第一，海水鱼养殖产量全国第一。

2024年海水鱼苗产量达67.96亿尾，约占全国一半，连续7年居全国首位。印发实施全国首个现代化海洋牧场发展总体规划。在全国率先突破硇洲族大黄鱼、章红鱼、巴浪鱼等人工繁育技术。在省内首次突破红瓜子斑和海鲈全流程人工繁育技术。在国内首次实现黄鳍金枪鱼陆基循环水养殖和饲料驯养。全国首台升降式桁架类网箱、全国首创漂浮式动力定位养殖平台等一批新型智能装备相继下水。累计建成重力式深水网箱7498个，为全国第一。
