On December 6th, a series of events under the 2025 Greater Bay Area Science Forum (GSF) commenced, bringing together academicians and experts from various fields to share cutting-edge insights and research achievements.

At the Sub-forum on Digital Life and Health, Cheng Heping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a professor at the College of Future Technology of Peking University, and director of the National Biomedical Imaging Center, emphasized that 2025 marks the beginning of the digital life era. He highlighted the importance of establishing a digital model system for life, spanning from molecular networks, cells, and organs to the entire organism, to simulate, predict, and intervene in life processes.

At the Sub-forum on Marine Science and Marine Industries, the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou), also known as the "Guangzhou Marine Laboratory," showcased its recent major research advancements. In response to the need for reef island environmental surveys and deep-sea exploration in China, the laboratory has led the development of the "Haiqiang" series of detection and sampling devices. These include the "Haiqiang 600" deep-sea sampling device, which allows for long-distance observation and the collection of 600 kilograms of samples in a single operation, as well as the deep-sea remotely operated vehicle (ROV) "Haiqiang 7000," which has completed successful 7,000-meter sea trials, breaking through foreign monopolies and reaching a world-leading level.

The Guangzhou Marine Laboratory also announced the official approval of two international big science programs: the UN Ocean Decade program "Global Climate Impacts of Methane Seeps" and the Science Decade program "Mysteries of the Cold Seep Interface." These programs focus on global marine cold seep ecosystems, leading collaborative efforts with over 50 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, to explore sustainable development and utilization pathways for cold seeps.

大湾区科学论坛举办

12月6日，2025大湾区科学论坛的系列论坛活动陆续举办，来自各领域的院士专家齐聚一堂，分享前沿观点与研究成果。

在数字生命与健康分论坛上，中国科学院院士，北京大学未来技术学院教授、国家生物医学成像科学中心主任程和平表示，2025年是数字生命时代的起点，构建起从分子网络、细胞、器官到全生命体的数字化模型体系，实现对生命过程的模拟、预测与干预。

在海洋科学与海洋产业分论坛上，南方海洋科学与工程广东省实验室（广州）（以下简称为“广州海洋实验室”）展示了近期重大科研进展：面向岛礁环境调查与深海探测等国家重大需求，实验室牵头研制了“海强”系列探测及取样装置——“海强600”深海采样装置，可实现长距离观测与单次600公斤样品采集；深海ROV“海强7000”已完成7000米海试验证，突破国外垄断，达世界领先水平。

据悉，广州海洋实验室牵头发起的联合国“海洋十年”大科学计划——甲烷渗漏对全球气候的影响和“科学十年”大科学计划——海洋冷泉界面之谜已正式获批。这两项国际大科学计划聚焦全球海底冷泉生态系统，引领美国、英国等50多个国家开展国际合作，探索冷泉可持续发展与利用路径。
