"Thanks to the Chinese medical team, I have once again seen the light and hope of life." At the Ophthalmology Center of the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, Fiji, Teresa Delgado, wife of the Cuban Counselor in Fiji, handed a handwritten letter of gratitude to the medical aid team from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University during her post‑operative check‑up.

In November this year, the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center medical team traveled to Fiji to carry out specialist work at the local ophthalmic center, bringing back health and vision to many Fijians suffering from eye diseases.

Before undergoing surgery, Teresa could hardly see anything and had great difficulty walking. "I heard that a medical team from Guangdong had come to Fiji to provide free and professional eye surgeries for local patients," she said. After learning about her condition, the Chinese doctors added an extra surgical session to treat her and successfully performed cataract surgery.

The moment she regained her sight deeply moved Teresa. "After the surgery, the doctor waved his hand in front of me and asked if I could see. At that moment, I not only saw his fingers—I saw hope."

At the follow‑up visit, Teresa and her husband presented the handwritten letter of gratitude to the medical team. It read:"The Chinese doctors have done remarkable things here in Fiji. In them, I see the radiance of humanity that defines the true spirit of doctors."

“感谢中国团队，让我重新看到了人生的光亮和希望。”在斐济苏瓦的殖民战争纪念医院眼科中心，古巴驻斐济参赞夫人特蕾莎（Teresa Delgado）在接受术后复查时，将一封手写感谢信郑重交到中山大学中山眼科中心援外团队手中。

今年11月，中山大学中山眼科中心医疗队来到斐济，在当地眼科中心开展医疗工作，为众多饱受眼部疾病困扰的斐济百姓，重新带来了健康和光明。

在接受手术之前，特蕾莎几乎看不见任何东西，行动步履维艰。“我听说有一支来自广东的医疗队来到这里，为斐济患者提供免费而专业的医疗服务。”特蕾莎说。中山眼科中心团队得知她的情况后，特别加排手术，为她成功实施白内障手术。

重见光明的那一刻，特蕾莎深受触动。“手术结束后，医生在我眼前挥手，问我能否看清。那一刻，我不仅看见了医生的手指，更看见了人生的希望。”

复查当天，特蕾莎与丈夫为中山眼科中心医疗队亲手递上感谢信，“中国医生在斐济做了很多了不起的事，我们深深感谢他们的到来。在他们身上，我看到了医者的人性光辉。”
