The 2025 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou) will be held in Guangzhou from November 30th to December 2nd. Under the theme "New Plan, New Development, New Choices: Chinese Modernization and New Vision for Global Governance," the conference will bring together prominent politicians, scholars, industry leaders, and representatives of international organizations. 

Participants will focus on China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and its global significance, discussing the new blueprint for the innovative development of Chinese modernization, the fresh opportunities it creates for global modernization, and collective efforts to advance the Global Governance Initiative, among other related topics.

So far, around 200 representatives from foreign countries and China's Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions have confirmed attendance, covering 72 countries and regions. Among them, 70% are from Global South countries, and 70% are first-time participants of the conference. The event will also host seven former leaders at vice-premier level or above, 11 ministerial-level officials, and five diplomatic envoys to China or representatives of international organizations in China. More than 300 Chinese representatives are scheduled to speak at the event, with the total number of participants expected to reach around 800.

One notable feature of this year's conference is the broad and highly representative range of international guests. The significant increase in participation from Global South countries reflects the growing international influence of the conference. It has become an important platform and channel for international exchanges, enabling Global South countries to learn from China's experience in modernization and to contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

This year's conference highlights the theme "Understanding Chinese Modernization in Guangzhou" and features a series of activities under "Understanding Guangzhou." These events aim to help domestic and international guests experience firsthand the vivid practices and dynamic progress of Chinese modernization through learning about and engaging with Guangzhou.

2025年“读懂中国”国际会议11月30日起在广州举办

2025年“读懂中国”国际会议将于11月30日至12月2日在广州举办。大会以“新布局、新发展、新选择——中国式现代化与全球治理新格局”为主题，汇聚全球知名政治家、学者、业界领袖及国际组织代表等重量级嘉宾，聚焦“十五五”规划及其世界意义，就中国式现代化创新发展的新布局及其为世界现代化提供的新机遇，携手践行全球治理倡议等相关议题展开研讨。

截至目前，已确认参会的国际及中国港澳地区代表约200位，来自72个国家和地区，其中70%来自全球南方国家，70%是第一次参加“读懂中国”国际会议的新面孔。现场参会的副总理级及以上前政要7位，部长级11位，驻华使节及国际组织驻华代表5位。中方发言嘉宾300余位。参会总人数预计在800人左右。

参会的国际嘉宾覆盖国家范围广、具有广泛的代表性是今年大会的一大特点。本届大会全球南方国家的参会代表占比有很大增幅，这表明“读懂中国”国际会议的影响力正日益扩大，成为全球南方国家借鉴中国式现代化成功经验、推动构建人类命运共同体的重要国际交流渠道与平台。

今年大会聚焦“在广州读懂中国式现代化”，策划“读懂广州”系列配套活动，推动国内外嘉宾在了解广州、认识广州过程中感知中国式现代化的生动实践和发展脉搏。
