On the evening of November 4th, the closing ceremony of the 14th China Art Festival was held at the Chongqing Grand Theatre, where 55 works were honored with the 18th Wenhua Award, including Play Award, Program Award, and Individual Award.

Guangdong secured three awards. Among them, the dance drama "Awakening Lion," produced by the Guangzhou Song and Dance Theatre, received the Wenhua Play Award. Zhang Manjun, director of the Cantonese opera "Samsui Women" by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theatre, was awarded the Wenhua Director Award. Meanwhile, Wang Yong, playwright of the opera "Qiaopi" by the Zhuhai Performing Arts Group, earned the Wenhua Playwright Award.

The "Wenhua Award" is the top national accolade for the performing arts in China.

"Awakening Lion" is the first large-scale dance drama in China centered on Guangdong lion dance, a national intangible cultural heritage.

"Samsui Women" is the first Cantonese opera depicting the history of Chinese female laborers, portraying the journey of women from Sanshui, Foshan, Guangdong, who migrated to Southeast Asia in the early 20th century and their struggles abroad.

The opera "Qiaopi" tells the story of overseas Chinese laborers through the letters and remittance certificates (qiaopi) left by the protagonist Liang Chengru, reflecting their deep-rooted love for both their homeland and families.

舞剧《醒·狮》勇夺文华剧目奖

11月4日晚上，第十四届中国艺术节闭幕式在重庆大剧院举行，为55个第十八届文华奖（含剧目奖、节目奖、单项奖）获奖作品颁奖。

广东共获得3个奖项。其中，广州歌舞剧院创演的舞剧《醒·狮》获“文华剧目奖”，广东粤剧院创演的粤剧《红头巾》导演张曼君获“文华导演奖”，珠海演艺集团创演的歌剧《侨批》编剧王勇获得“文华编剧奖”。 

据悉，“文华奖”是中国舞台艺术领域的政府最高奖。

舞剧《醒·狮》是国内首部以国家级非遗项目广东醒狮为主题的大型民族舞剧。

粤剧《红头巾》是国内首部展现华人女性群体劳工史的粤剧作品，《红头巾》再现了20世纪初广东佛山三水女性“下南洋”，在异国他乡艰难打拼的故事。

歌剧《侨批》通过华工梁诚如临终遗留侨批串联人物命运，展现海外侨胞家国情怀。
