The 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Shenzhen in November next year. The promotional video of Shenzhen released by China Media Group highlights six defining qualities: innovation, livability, beauty, resilience, civility, and intelligence, revealing the deeper reasons why APEC chose Shenzhen.

As the window of China's reform and opening up, Shenzhen has innovation at its core. In just 45 years, it has risen from a small border town to become the driving engine of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The city is home to more than 2.8 million companies and over 1.7 million self-employed businesses, with thriving high-tech industrial clusters in robot, semiconductors, and new energy vehicles, making it a fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Shenzhen is a livable city where humans and nature coexist in harmony. The Shenzhen Bay Park and a citywide greenway network together create the landscape of "a city of parks," while a 100,000-square-meter indoor ski resort offers a unique recreational experience. Migratory birds grace the mangroves, and the number of supercharging stations is 3.7 times that of gas stations, a vivid reflection of Shenzhen's commitment to green development.

The city's resilience is underscored by its well-connected transport network and high operational efficiency. The Shenzhen Metro Gangxia North Station has become a new urban landmark, while the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link strengthens regional connectivity. In 2024, Shenzhen Port's container throughput reached 33.4 million TEUs, while the city's border crossings handled 40% of China’s passenger traffic, together underscoring its remarkable efficiency and vitality.

A rich human touch gives Shenzhen its warmth. The dance drama "Wing Chun" and the Yingge Dance embody a fusion of tradition and modernity, while the slogan "Once here, Shenzhener forever" embodies the city's inclusiveness. Covering 131,000 square meters, the Shenzhen Book City Bay Area Store serves as a cultural haven where literature, art, and everyday life blend seamlessly.

As a model of a smart city, Shenzhen delivers efficient and convenient digital government services. Intelligent scenarios such as drone food delivery have become commonplace. Technology not only enhances governance but also makes daily life easier, driving the city's shift from manufacturing toward intelligent creation.

Today, this city, a witness to Chinese modernization, is extending a sincere invitation to the world to gather in Shenzhen for the 2026 APEC meeting and to work together to shape a better future.

明年11月，亚太经合组织第三十三次领导人非正式会议将在深圳举办。中央广播电视总台发布的城市宣传片，以创新、宜居、美丽、韧性、文明、智慧六大特质，揭晓了APEC选择深圳的深层原因。
