On the afternoon of October 18th, the opening ceremony of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Cultural Week" and the "Reform Mission: Guangdong Art Centennial Exhibition" under the 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival was grandly inaugurated at the Shanghai Art Museum (China Art Museum). The exhibition presents approximately 800 outstanding Guangdong artworks (sets), featuring around seven themed sections plus three special topics to offer an immersive panorama of the development history of Guangdong art.

The exhibition venue occupies the 8th, 10th, and 12th floors of the Shanghai Art Museum. On the 8th floor, a circular LED screen has been installed, and through immersive technologies such as the "light and shadow art" and dynamic projections, the static classic masterpieces are brought to life with movement. A 300-meter "Time Corridor" traces the century-long splendor of Guangdong, showcasing past exhibition archives and materials, and explains the inheritance and innovation of Guangdong art from a contemporary perspective.

Wang Yichuan, Party Secretary and Executive Director of the Shanghai Art Museum, noted that after Shanghai's opening as a treaty port to the world, people from Guangdong gradually became a significant immigrant group in Shanghai. Guangdong-native artists likewise depended on Shanghai's urban ecosystem to fulfill their ambitions, and luminaries emerged in succession with far-reaching influence. He added, "This exhibition can also be seen as a key cross-section of China's modern and contemporary art development, highlighting the strong vitality and self-innovative capacity of Chinese culture."

Wang Shaoqiang, Curator of the Guangdong Museum of Art, explained that the exhibition especially features a public education program titled "Lingnan Meets Haipai." The aim is to allow the cultural genes of the two places to spark new resonance through dialogue, enabling visitors to feel how art is entwined with everyday life.

岭南文化“潮”动上海滩！粤港澳大湾区文化周暨广东美术百年大展沪上启幕

10月18日下午，第二十四届中国上海国际艺术节粤港澳大湾区文化周暨“其命惟新——广东美术百年大展”开幕式于上海美术馆（中华艺术宫）盛大举行。展览亮出约800件（套）广东美术精品力作，七大主题板块与三个特别专题交织叙事，呈献了一部立体的广东美术发展史图鉴。

本次展览场地设在上海美术馆第8、10、12三层。8层设置环形多媒体屏，借助光影美术馆、动态投影等沉浸式体验技术，让静态经典名作焕发动态生机。300米“时光长廊”梳理广东百年芳华，展出历年展览文献、资料等，立足当代视角阐释广东美术的传承与创新。

上海美术馆党委书记、执行馆长王一川表示，上海开埠后，粤人渐成沪上重要移民群体。粤籍美术家亦依托上海城市生态施展抱负，巨擘迭出，影响深远。“本次展览更可视为中国近现代美术发展的一个关键切片，彰显中华文化强大的生命力与自我革新能力。”

广东美术馆馆长王绍强介绍，这次展览特别设置了“岭南遇上海派”公共教育项目，希望让两地的文化基因在对话中碰撞出新的火花，感受艺术与生活的血肉相连。
