To develop, China needs a continuous power supply.
As a true “Electric Empire,” China generated over 10 trillion kWh in 2024,
accounting for one-third of global electricity.
Its annual output surpassed the combined generation of the U.S., EU, and India.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan,
China’s additional electricity demand alone is expected to exceed the annual consumption of the EU.
China’s power generation is not only abundant but also green:
it has built the world’s largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system,
raising the share of renewable generation capacity from 40% to around 60%.
Across the country, 1 out of every 3 kWh consumed is green electricity.

Guangdong, with the longest coastline in China, boasts abundant offshore wind resources.
Leading the way in marine energy, the province achieved several milestones in 2024:
Yangjiang floating Wind Farm Project commissioned the world’s largest twin-unit offshore turbine.
Three Gorges Yangjiang Qingzhou VI Offshore Wind Farm became the first single-unit turbine to connect 1 million kW to the grid, setting a new Guangdong record.
As of August 2025, Guangdong’s cumulative renewable energy capacity exceeded 81 million kW, including 12.5 million kW offshore wind, ranking first nationwide.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan, Guangdong added over 1 million kW of offshore wind capacity annually for four consecutive years.
