Indian doctor Dwarkanath Shantaram Kotnis is widely known in China by his Chinese name, Ke Dihua.

From 1938 to 1942, Kotnis worked tirelessly as a member of the Indian Medical Mission to China, providing medical care to Chinese soldiers and civilians. His life ended at the age of 32, and he forever rests in China.
