On July 15th, multiple unmanned harvesters were at full capacityto gather the early rice crop in Wanlv Unmanned Smart Farm in Xiaba Village, Liucheng Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, marking the full-scale launch of the summer grain harvest in the region. According to local agricultural authorities, this year's rice yield at the farm is expected to reach 600 kilograms per mu, signaling another year of abundant harvest.

As the largest high-tech agricultural demonstration base in Guangdong province, the Wanlv Unmanned Smart Farm integrates cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and artificial intelligence (AI) to enable fully unmanned operations across the entire rice production cycle, from plowing and planting to crop management and harvesting.

Currently, the farm stands as the most advanced and largest unmanned rice farm in Guangdong, covering over 10,000 mu, with a 1,500-mu unmanned core zone equipped with intelligent agricultural machinery such as unmanned rotary cultivators, rice transplanters, and harvesters. Through cloud-based remote control, these machines have boosted operational efficiency by over 50 times compared to manual labor, significantly increasing agricultural productivity.

In addition, the unmanned farm adopts new high-yield and high-resistantrice varieties, combined with variable-rate fertilization and optimized planting density techniques. In 2024, the farm achieved an average yield of 587.5 kilograms per mu, an 11% increase compared to conventional rice, with labor costs reduced by 30%. At the same time, with real-time monitoring of soil, weather and pest conditions, drone inspections and facilities like cold chain storage, the farm promotes green agriculture. It also manages 30,000 mu of surrounding farmland through entrusted farming, helping boost collective village income by over 2 million yuan annually. Today, the Wanlv Unmanned Smart Farm has become a technological benchmark for the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Project" and rural revitalization.
