In 2024, the new energy sector became Guangdong's ninth industry cluster to surpass one trillion yuan. Among its achievements, offshore wind power capacity exceeded 12 million kilowatts, the highest in the nation, helping Guangdong's new energy industry successfully enter the "trillion-level" league.

South of Yangjiang, in south China's Guangdong province, the Qingzhou III Offshore Wind Farm, built by Guangdong Huadian Fuxin Yangjiang Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., set three national records: it is the farthest from shore, the deepest in water, and the largest in total installed capacity among nearshore deepwater wind projects in China. The project fills a critical gap in zero-carbon energy development in nearshore deep waters.

In Shantou, China's first coastal wind power test base successfully completed construction of the third and fourth test wind turbine positions. The turbines tested here can reach up to 24 megawatts each, the highest single-unit testing capacity in the world. These facilities play a key role in supporting grid integration, type certification, and operational safety for next-generation offshore wind turbines.

Guangdong is restructuring its green energy landscape by activating the entire industrial chain. In the upstream, it relies on high-end equipment manufacturing clusters to develop wind turbine systems, photovoltaic modules, and energy storage batteries—each forming billion-yuan industrial bases. In the midstream, it is building a green energy corridor across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by a multi-energy complementary system integrating wind, solar, nuclear, energy storage, and hydrogen. In the downstream, it integrates new energy into the digital economy, green transportation, and modern agriculture to create a robust "New Energy+" ecosystem.
广东“海上风电走廊”点亮万亿绿能
2024年,新能源产业已成为广东第九个万亿级产业集群。其中,海上风电总装机规模突破1200万千瓦,跃居全国第一,助力广东新能源产业顺利迈入“万亿级”行列。
在阳江以南,广东华电福新阳江海上风电有限公司建设的阳江青洲三海上风电场,创下国内近海深水区海上风电项目“离岸最远、水深最深、总装机规模最大”三项纪录,填补了近海深水区“零碳”能源开发的空白。
在汕头,国内首个风电临海试验基地第3号、4号风机试验机位顺利建成,单机测试容量最大达24兆瓦,居世界第一,对于支撑大兆瓦风电机组并网测试与型式认证,保障海上风电机组入网质量及电网安全稳定具有重要意义。
广东正以全产业链联动重塑绿色能源发展格局:上游依托高端装备制造集群,打造风电整机、光伏组件、储能电池等千亿级生产基地;中游通过“风光核储氢”多能互补体系,建设粤港澳大湾区绿色能源走廊;下游联动数字经济、绿色交通、现代农业等产业,构建“新能源+”应用生态圈。
