[Editor's Note] 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. As the main Eastern battlefield during the global fight against fascism, China made tremendous sacrifices and gave indelible contributions to the World Anti-Fascist War. Many international friends gave their lives in support of the resistance against Japanese aggression. From today, YTalk will introduce these international friends who aided China's war effort.

In Wanzhou District, Chongqing, a Chinese mother and her son have tended the grave of a Soviet pilot they never met for over six decades—a story President Xi Jinping once shared.

In March 2013, during a speech at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, President Xi Jinping recalled: "During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, a Soviet captain Gregory Kulishenko came to China to fight side by side with the Chinese people. He once said with deep feeling: 'I experience the disaster of the Chinese people as I would the disaster of my own motherland.' He heroically gave his life on Chinese land. The Chinese people have not forgotten this hero. A Chinese mother and her son have guarded his grave for more than half a century."

What's the story? Today's YTalk brings you the heroic deeds of Kulishenko, a martyr in Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
