The secret behind Chinese beverage's global expansion

Recently, a netizen posted on social media about purchasing Chi Forest ice tea in flavors like White Peach Iced Jasmine Tea and Grapefruit Iced Green Tea at a convenience store in Indonesia. This marks the debut of Chi Forest's iced tea line in Indonesia's major retail channels, becoming the second product lineto enter the Indonesian marketafter its sparkling water series.

This development marks another milestone in the overseas journey of Chinese beverage companies. Chi Forest has now established a sophisticated network covering major retail systems, ranging from over 30,000 retail outlets in Indonesia to a presence in 591 Costco stores across the United States and 109 in Canada.

It is worth noting that Southeast Asia is often the first stop for Chinese beverage brands expanding abroad. In April this year, Dongpeng beverage Hainan production basewas officially laid, which is set to become a technologically advanced smart factory aimed at serving the Southeast Asian market.

In comparison, Chinese tea beverage brands have been even more aggressive in their international expansion. Also in April, Chagee officially opened its first store in Jakarta in Indonesia. Located in the crowded PIK Avenue shopping mall, the store attracted long queues of consumers on its opening day, drawing significant market attention.

Mixue's overseas business is very representative. By the end of 2024, Mixue had opened over 4,800 stores overseas across 11 countries, with a leading market share in Southeast Asia.

从印尼到北美,一瓶中国饮料的出海密码

近日,有网友在社交媒体晒出在印尼便利店里购买到了白桃茉莉与葡萄柚绿茶口味的Chi Forest冰茶。据了解,这是元气森林旗下冰茶系列首次登陆印尼主流零售渠道,继气泡水之后成为第二个进入印尼市场的产品线。

这是中国饮料企业在出海道路中的又一次突破。目前,元气森林已搭建起一张覆盖主流零售体系的精密网络,从印尼超3万个零售网点,到进驻全美591家、加拿大109家Costco门店。

记者留意到,东南亚市场往往是中国各大饮料品牌出海的第一站。今年4月,东鹏海南生产基地正式奠基,规划建设技术领先的智能工厂,旨在辐射东南亚。

相比而言,中国茶饮品牌出海力度更大。同在4月,霸王茶姬(Chagee)在印尼特区雅加达正式开设首家门店。门店选址于人流密集的PIK Avenue购物中心,开业当天吸引大量消费者排队等候,引发市场关注。

蜜雪冰城(Mixue)出海业务很具有代表性。截至2024年底,该品牌海外门店数突破4800家,覆盖11个国家。其中,在东南亚市场份额领先。
