At 3:39 PM. on June 18th, 25 student rocket enthusiasts from Guangdong successfully launched a sounding rocket at the launch base in Lenghu Town, Mangya City, northwest China's Qinghai Province.

The rocket measured 2.5 meters in height and reached a peak altitude of 9,261.9 meters. The launch site sits at an elevation of 2,777 meters, bringing the rocket's maximum flight altitude to 12,038.9 meters above sea level. The mission was aimed at testing the in-flight reliability of the rocket and its onboard communication system, while collecting tropospheric data including temperature, air pressure, humidity, wind speed, and wind direction.

According to reports, the launch base in Lenghu Townis located in an uninhabited Gobi Desert region known for its clear skies and high atmospheric transparency. The area provides a vast, safe site and stable observational conditions for rocket testing, attracting numerous schools and commercial aerospace organizations to conduct rocket launch activities there.

This was not the first time that China's middle students have successfully launched a rocket. On May 27th, China's first meteorological sounding rocket independently developed by student space enthusiasts from Shenzhen, Beijing, Hebei, and Shandong, named "Feiyan-1", was successfully launched at Lenghu in Qinghai.

One minute after ignition, telemetry data showed that the rocket reached a maximum flight altitude of 10,555.7 meters above sea level. The ground station successfully collected the planned meteorological data.

25名广东中学生，在青海成功发射探空火箭

6月18日15时39分，来自广东的25名中学生火箭爱好者，在青海省海西州茫崖市冷湖火箭发射基地成功发射了一枚探空火箭。

该火箭高度2.5米，射高为9261.9米，发射点海拔为2777米，箭体飞行最高海拔为12038.9米。此次发射用于实验该火箭和箭载通信设备在飞行状态下的可靠性，并完成对流层大气的温度、气压、湿度以及风速、风向等参数探测。

据了解，青海冷湖火箭发射基地因地处戈壁无人区、天气晴朗少云且大气透明度高，为火箭发射测试提供了安全宽阔的场地和稳定的观测条件，吸引许多学校和商业航天机构在此开展火箭发射相关活动。

这已经不是我国中学生第一次成功发射火箭。5月27日，中国首枚由深圳、北京、河北、山东等地中学生航天爱好者自主研制的气象探空火箭“飞燕一号”，在青海冷湖成功发射。

点火发射1分钟后，遥测数据显示，火箭在青海冷湖最高飞行高度海拔为10555.7米，地面接收站成功收到计划采集的气象数据。
