The centuries-old ‘Toudeng’ (lantern auction) tradition in Langtou Ancient Village continues to thrive. During the Lantern Festival, villagers bid on handmade lanterns, raising funds for ancestral hall restorations and educational initiatives. Now, the ‘Langtou Experiment’, embodying China's rural revitalization wisdom, has debuted at the Venice Biennale’s themed pavilion. Langtou’s iconic fish lanterns illuminate Venice’s waterways, sparking a global dialogue between tradition and modernity.

“投灯”民俗在塱头古村已延续数百年，每值上元佳节，村民们竞拍手制灯笼，筹得善款以修缮祠堂、兴办教育。如今，“塱头实验”带着中国乡村的活化智慧，首登威尼斯建筑双年展主题馆。塱头鱼灯与水城万河交相辉映，在世界舞台上展开一场传统与现代的对话。
