On February 24th, the D Tank of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)'s Jinwan "Green Energy Port" Phase II project in Zhuhai successfully completed its pre-cooling filling and liquid injection, marking the successful operation-commissioning of the first LNG tank in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with a world-leading single-container capacity of 270,000 cubic meters.

The operation of this tank will significantly enhance the natural gas supply security for the GBA and South China region.

The core technologies employed in the construction of the D Tank include 12 technical breakthroughs that fill domestic gaps, achieving world leadership for ultra-large capacity cryogenic LNG storage tanks. Standing 65.7 meters tall-equivalent to Beijing's National Stadium ("Bird's Nest")-the cylindrical tank spans nearly 100 meters in diameter. Its colossal capacity of 270,000 cubic meters, equivalent to 614 standard swimming pools, can store 169 million cubic meters of natural gas, enough to accommodate three stacked COMAC C919 passenger jets vertically. Engineered for a 50-year lifespan, the structure boasts unparalleled seismic resilience, capable of withstanding mega earthquakes with a 2,500-year recurrence interval.

Designing and constructing the 270,000-cubic-meter LNG tanks is highly complex, demanding extreme precision and safety standards, making it one of the cutting-edge technologies in the global energy sector. China now ranks among the few nations capable of designing and constructing ultra-large LNG tanks.

After three years of meticulous construction, CNOOC's Jinwan "Green Energy Port" Phase II project has delivered five 270,000 cubic meter LNG tanks with a combined storage capacity of 845 million cubic meters of natural gas. The operational D Tank alone can meet the gas demand of 22 million residents for two months, serving as a critical safeguard against supply disruptions.

全球单罐容量最大！粤港澳大湾区首座27万立方米LNG储罐投用

2月24日，位于珠海的中国海油金湾“绿能港”二期项目D号储罐顺利完成预冷填充并成功进液，标志着粤港澳大湾区首座全球单罐容量最大的27万立方米液化天然气（LNG）储罐一次性投用成功。

该储罐的投用，将大幅提升粤港澳大湾区和华南地区的天然气供应保障能力。

据悉，D号储罐采用的核心技术，其中12项技术成果填补国内空白，实现27万立方米的超大容积低温LNG全容储罐核心技术世界领先。储罐单罐高65.7米，相当于国家体育馆“鸟巢”的高度，直径近百米，内部可同时叠放3架中国商飞C919客机，罐容27万立方米，相当于614个标准游泳池的容量，可存储1.69亿立方米天然气。储罐设计寿命长达50年，具备极强的抗震能力，可抵御2500年一遇的超强地震。

据了解，27万立方米LNG储罐的设计和建造工艺极为复杂，对安全性的要求极高，是全球能源领域的尖端技术之一，中国是世界上少数几个能够设计建造超大型LNG储罐的国家。

经过长达3年艰苦卓绝的努力，中国海油金湾“绿能港”二期项目安全优质地建成5座27万立方米LNG储罐，能够存储约8.45亿立方米天然气。首座D号储罐先行投用可满足2200万居民两个月的用气需求，将有效应对保供突发情况。
