EHang is about to receive the world's first operational certificate (OC) for an autonomous manned aerial vehicle, Yunzhou-techis pushing China's unmanned vessels to the global stage with its self-developed technology, while Tencent continues to make advancements in cutting-edge fields like AI and cloud technology. These representative innovations from private enterprises highlight the strong vitality of Guangdong's private economy.

On the morning of February 17th, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended a symposium on private enterprises and delivered an important speech. The prospects for the development of the private economy in the new era and new journey are broad and full of potential. The private economy has been thriving in Guangdong, and its spirit of innovation and boldness has always been a defining characteristic of the province's private sector.  

In 2024, Guangdong registered over 19 million business entities, with more than 96% of them being private enterprises, contributing over 50% of the province's GDP, more than 60% of its import-export volume,and tax revenue, over 70% of its technological innovations, and more than 80% of the employment. Guangdong's total economy has ranked first in the country for 36 consecutive years. Despite facing complex domestic and international economic conditions, Guangdong's GDP reached 14.16 trillion yuan in 2024, demonstrating strong resilience, with private enterprises becoming the "major contributor" supporting the province's foreign trade.

In 2024, private enterprises in Guangdong achieved a total import-export value of 5.8 trillion yuan, accounting for 63.6% of the province's total foreign trade. Shenzhen's foreign trade surpassed 4 trillion yuan for the first time, making it the top "foreign trade city" in the country. BYD's export of new energy vehicles exceeded 400,000 units in 2024, marking a 70% growth. TCL's full-range products in Europe are expected to surpass 10 billion yuan in scale.

Professor Chen Guanghan from the Institute of Guangdong, Hong Kongand Macao Development Studies of Sun Yat-sen University pointed out, "In 2025, Guangdong's economic growth needs to reach a new level, with achieving high-quality development as the core and driving the transformation of development momentum as the key." He specifically mentioned that emerging technologies such as AI, new energy, and the biological health industry will become new driving forces for Guangdong's economic growth.

2月17日上午,习近平总书记出席民营企业座谈会并发表重要讲话。新时代新征程民营经济发展前景广阔、大有可为。一直以来,民营经济在广东这片沃土上蓬勃发展,敢为人先是广东民营经济的底色。

2024年,广东省登记在册的经营主体超过1900万户,其中民营企业占比超过96%,贡献了全省五成以上的GDP、六成以上的进出口额和税收、七成以上的技术创新成果以及八成以上的就业。广东经济总量连续36年居全国首位。面对复杂的国内外经济形势,2024年广东以14.16万亿元的GDP成绩,展现出强大的韧性,民营企业成为支撑全省外贸的“主力军”。

2024年,广东省民营企业进出口达5.8万亿元,占全省外贸总值的63.6%。深圳外贸首次突破4万亿元,成为全国“外贸第一城”,比亚迪新能源汽车2024年出口突破40万辆、增长70%,TCL在欧洲全品类规模预计超过100亿元……

中山大学粤港澳发展研究院教授陈广汉指出:“2025年广东经济增长要再迈上一个新台阶,实现高质量发展是核心,推动发展动能转换是关键。”他特别提到,人工智能、新能源、生物大健康产业等新兴技术将成为广东经济新的增长动力。
