On October 24th, 2024, Guangzhou Metro Line 11 completed a "hot sliding test" on the Tianhe Park to Yuancun section, with its electric passenger trains reaching a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Just two minutes later, the train smoothly arrived at Pazhou Station, marking the successful completion of Guangzhou's first metro circular line and the start of full-scale operational testing, laying a solid foundation for its official launch.
Guangzhou's first metro circular line, Line 11, has been in planning and construction for more than a decade. The 44.2-kilometer line has 31 stations, all underground, connecting five districts: Tianhe, Baiyun, Yuexiu, Liwan, and Haizhu. It links major hubs such as Pazhou, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, and Baietan. The line also integrates with several existing and under-construction metro lines, offering transfers at 26 stations, earning it the title "King of Transfers." Guangzhou Metro Construction Management Co., Ltd stated that the opening of the circular line will significantly relieve traffic congestion in the city center and further optimize the city's rail network.
Line 11 is not only a vital transportation artery but also a cultural and economic bridge. The line crosses both new and old city areas, connecting important economic sectors such as Tianhe North, Pazhou, and Baietan, facilitating connections between the Tianhe North CBD, Financial City CBD, and Pazhou CBD. The cultural essence of Lingnan's intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is also vividly reflected along this line. Five stations, including Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, and Pazhou Station, are designed as key heritage stations, offering a comprehensive presentation of Lingnan culture to the public. The Guangzhou Metro construction team, in collaboration with cultural and tourism experts, integrated ICH elements into the station designs, creating cultural spaces that highlight Lingnan characteristics.
With Line 11 about to open, Guangzhou Metro's total operational mileage will surpass 700 kilometers, further enhancing the city's rail transit network.

粤港澳大湾区首条地铁环线即将开通运营
2024年10月24日,广州地铁十一号线的电客车以每小时80公里的速度完成了天河公园至员村段的热滑测试。短短两分钟后,列车稳稳驶入琶洲站,标志着广州首条地铁环线“闭环”成功,全面进入运营调试阶段,为开通运营打下坚实基础。
广州首条地铁环线十一号线历经十余年规划和建设。这条环线全长44.2公里,设31座车站,全部采用地下敷设方式,串联天河、白云、越秀、荔湾和海珠五区,连接了琶洲、广州东站、广州火车站和白鹅潭等多个重要枢纽。线路还与现有和在建的多条地铁线路实现换乘,换乘站多达26座,被称为名副其实的“换乘之王”。广州地铁建设公司表示,环线开通后将极大缓解中心城区交通压力,进一步优化广州的轨道交通网络。
十一号线不仅是一条交通大动脉,更是一条文化与经济发展的纽带。线路穿越新城老城,串联起天河北、琶洲、白鹅潭等重要经济板块,为天河北CBD、金融城CBD和琶洲CBD之间的互联互通提供了便利。岭南非遗也在这条地铁线上得到了生动体现。全线5个车站被设计为非遗重点站,包括广州东站、广州火车站和琶洲站,向市民全方位呈现岭南文化精髓。广州地铁建设团队与文旅专家多次沟通,最终将非遗元素巧妙融入车站设计,打造出具有岭南特色的文化空间。
随着十一号线即将开通,广州地铁的运营总里程将突破700公里,轨道交通网络更加完善。
