Since its premiere on October 22nd, 2014, at the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center, "White Snake" has celebrated a decade of performances. On December 28th, 2024, renowned Cantonese opera artists will once again bring this classic to life at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou. In 2014, drawing from the traditional tale "The Legend of the White Snake," the Guangdong Cantonese Opera House reinvented the play with a modern aesthetic for its debut. By December 2016, the tour expanded to over 40 cities across China, as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, with more than 300 performances to date, attracting over ten million viewers both online and offline. The show has also traveled to countries such as Italy, Greece, and Spain, and in July 2024, it created a sensation in Singapore.

Over the past ten years, it has frequently appeared on major CCTV galas, and in 2021, it graced the stage of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, showcasing the charm of Lingnan Cantonese opera to Chinese audiences worldwide. In July 2018, the film adaptation began production, becoming the first 4K panoramic sound Cantonese opera film in China. After its release on May 20th, 2021, it broke box office records with over 23 million yuan, setting a new high for Chinese opera films and becoming a successful example of the commercialization of opera films. Exclusively on Bilibili, it has consistently ranked among the top in the film channel's musical category, with related materials garnering over 100 million views online.

"White Snake" represents the bold attempt of a new generation of Cantonese opera artists to integrate new media, new markets, and new concepts. It not only preserves the classics but also actively innovates, earning countless accolades both domestically and internationally. This play has not only revitalized Cantonese opera in the new era but also paved new paths for the promotion of traditional opera culture, Marking a significant chapter in the history of Cantonese opera development.

粤剧《白蛇传·情》十年路：传统与现代交融的粤剧华章

自2014年10月22日在广东粤剧艺术中心首演以来，粤剧《白蛇传·情》已走过十载。2024年12月28日，粤剧名家将在广州中山纪念堂再次演绎这部经典。2014年，广东粤剧院取材传统《白蛇传》，融入现代审美重塑此剧并首演。2016年12月，巡演范围扩大至国内40多座城市以及港澳台地区，至今演出超300场，线上线下观众过千万，还远赴意大利、希腊、西班牙等国，2024年7月于新加坡掀起观演热潮。

十年来，它频繁亮相央视各大晚会，2021年登上央视春晚舞台，向全球华人展现岭南粤剧风情。2018年7月，其电影版开拍，作为国内首部4K全景声粤剧电影，2021年5月20日公映后票房突破2300万元，创下中国戏曲电影票房新高，成为戏曲电影市场化成功范例。B站独家上线后，于电影频道歌舞类型片中始终名列前茅，相关物料全网播放量超1亿次。
