From November 25th to 27th, a delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and senior representatives of the business sector visited Foshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Shenzhen. The delegation conducted in-depth inspections of key projects across these cities, exploring new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangdong. Comprising around 80 members, the delegation included over 60 representatives from Hong Kong's major enterprises, financial institutions, and business associations.

The delegation visited sites such as Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, the Guangzhou Development Zone Planning Exhibition Hall, and the Dongguan Binhaiwan Bay Area, experiencing firsthand the seamless connectivity among the cities in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA). Foshan's Lingnan Tiandi, a historical area revitalization project, stood out as a successful case of Hong Kong-Guangdong collaboration. John Lee, Hong Kong Chief Executive, praised the project during his visit, stating, "Lingnan Tiandi is a hallmark of Hong Kong-Guangdong cooperation, and we will see more collaborative projects in the future." Notably, the project attracted over 32.17 million visitors in 2023, generating revenue of 124 million yuan, becoming a benchmark for the integration of culture and commerce in the GBA.

According to Stanley Yuen, Business Development Director at Hong Kong's Shun Tak Group, "Traveling between cities is now much faster than before, facilitating the flow of talent, capital, and information, and boosting business collaboration." The delegation was also impressed by a low-altitude flight demonstration of smart autonomous flying vehicles in the Guangzhou Development District, showcasing the potential for future regional connectivity.

In Dongguan, the OPPO Global Computing Power Center amazed the delegation with its robust AI model training capabilities powered by tens of thousands of servers. At the China-ROK (Huizhou) Industrial Park, innovative products such as intelligent robots and electric vehicles were on display. In addition, the BYD Automotive Industrial Park in Shenzhen-Shantou Cooperation Zone showcased its smart production line, capable of producing 70 cars per hour, reflecting the high efficiency and automation of manufacturing in the region. Andrew KWOK, President of the Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association, remarked, "These achievements give me a renewed understanding of the manufacturing prowess in the GBA."

Dr. Felix Lee, Co-CEO of the GBA Healthcare Group, shared that his group has already established over 200 sites in the GBA and plans to deepen cooperation in medical services. Delegation members generally agreed that the collaboration potential between Hong Kong and Guangdong is immense in fields such as technology, finance, and professional services. Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki emphasized, "The industrial development in the GBA offers new opportunities for Hong Kong's industrial transformation and upgrading. We will strengthen cooperation to identify new growth drivers."
