On one side are lush green mountains, and on the other side is the azure sea. As vehicles cross the Nan'ao Bridge and enter the Nan'ao round-the-island road in Shantou, the scenery of mountains and sea blends beautifully. If you're lucky, you might even encounter the marine spirits—the white dolphins swimming gracefully on the shimmering waves.

On September 29^th, the Ministry of Transport released the list of the most beautiful self-driving routes. The Nan'ao round-the-island road in Shantou, Guangdong, has successfully made it into the top 20, becoming the only route from Guangdong to be selected.

The Nan'ao round-the-island road begins at the Nanhai Bin Laiwu Island Bridge in the Fengxiang Street of Chenghai District in Shantou. It passes through the Nan'ao Island National Forest Park and extends to the southern section of the island, ending at the Changshanwei, the management office of the Nan'ao Island National Forest Park. The road is 33 kilometers long and was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Most Beautiful Ordinary National and Provincial Highways" in Guangdong in 2021.

In recent years, "island tourism" has become increasingly popular among travelers in China. With its unique landscapes, Nan'ao Island is nestled between mountains and the sea, consistently ranking among the top destinations for tourism nationwide.

Stops along Nan'ao round-the-island road

▲Stop 1: Nan'ao Island National Forest Park. This section of the road passes through the only island national forest park in Guangdong. It is an important part of the Nan'ao "4A-level tourist area" and the "National Ecological Demonstration Zone ", and it serves as the core area for Nan'ao to establish a "5A-level tourist area".

▲Stop 2: Qihang Square. Located at the Changshanwei Pier, Qihang Square boasts beautiful scenery, offering a panoramic view of the Nan'ao Bridge and the azure sea. It is also an excellent spot for watching the sunset. As night falls and the lights come on, the dazzling illumination transforms Qihang Square into a colorful spectacle, providing visitors with a visual feast.

▲Stop 3: Tianzai Geological Park. The Park is located on the southern section of the road. It features an array of naturally weathered rock formations shaped by sea erosion, creating a stunning spectacle. The harmonious blend of sea and sky, combined with the beautiful surroundings, allows visitors to gaze at the vast azure waves from a distance and observe the crashing surf up close, making it a unique coastal attraction.

▲Stop 4: Beisha Bay Beach Park . This is a diverse beach park that combines food, cultural creativity, and music. In addition to its beautiful beach and sea view, the park offers a variety of entertainment activities and culinary experiences. It also regularly hosts concerts.

▲Stop 5: Xiangyun Square. It is located on Haibin Road in Nan'ao, a bustling area. Right beneath the square lies Qianjiang Bay Beach. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the blue sea and sky, along with stunning sunsets and the beautiful island scenery all around.

▲Stop 6: Qianjiang Bay Beach Park . This park features a wide beach with clear waters and soft, fine sand, making it an ideal location for beach baths, swimming, beach volleyball, and other water activities. Additionally, the park offers a variety of water entertainment options for visitors to enjoy.

广东唯一！汕头南澳环岛公路入围最美自驾精品路线

9月29日，交通运输部发布“行在乡村 游在路上”最美自驾精品路线入围名单，广东汕头南澳环岛公路成功进入20强，是广东唯一入围的路线。

南澳环岛公路起于汕头市澄海区凤翔街道南海滨莱芜岛桥头，途经南澳海岛国家森林公园延至环岛南线，止于南澳海岛国家森林公园管委长山尾，全长33公里，曾获评2021年度广东省“十大最美普通国省道干线公路”。

近年来，国内“海岛旅游”备受旅客青睐，南澳岛风光独特，依山傍海，在全国旅游目的地的热门榜上长期霸榜。
