Since the beginning of 2024, Guangdong's tourism economy has been operating smoothly. Fueled by the "Come to Guangdong for Summer Vacation" series activity, the summer tourism market continues its growth momentum. According to preliminary estimates from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province , the province welcomed a total of 137 million visitors, with tourism revenue hitting 216.81 billion yuan, marking yet another historic high following last year's "hottest summer vacation in five years."
Summer vacation is the longest and most lucrative peak season for tourism throughout the year. Since June, the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism has been focusing on the theme of "Come to Guangdong for Summer Vacation", implementing a rhythm of early warming-ups, mid-season promotions, and final stimulation to roll out a series of cultural and tourism activities and a host of seasonal tourism products. These have resulted in record levels for key indicators such as tourist numbers, total tourism revenue, and average spending per tourist during the summer vacation.
Preliminary estimates show that the province received a total of 137 million visitors during the summer vacation (approximately 10% of the national total), representing a year-on-year increase of 15.1% (about 10 percentage points higher than the national average). Tourism revenue reached 216.81 billion yuan (accounting for 15% of the national total), a year-on-year increase of 16.2% (about 7.5 percentage points higher than the national average). This included the receiving of 120 million domestic tourists, a 16.1% increase year-on-year, generating a domestic tourism revenue of 183.22 billion yuan, up 17.9%. The province also welcomed 15.38 million international visitors, an 8.3% increase year-on-year, contributing 33.58 billion yuan in foreign exchange revenue. The average spending per tourist was 1,582 yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 0.9%, demonstrating the continued resilience of consumer spending among visitors.
According to data from Ctrip.com , Guangdong ranks first among all provinces (including municipalities) in total spending and visitor arrivals during summer vacation. Additionally, various online travel agencies (OTAs) report a staggering year-on-year increase of 117% in inbound tourism orders for Guangdong since the summer vacation began, along with an 8% year-on-year increase in flight pre-orders.

广东暑期旅游再创新高,旅游总收入2168.1亿元
今年以来,广东旅游经济整体运行良好,在“请到广东过暑假”系列活动助推下,暑期旅游市场延续增长势头。据省文化和旅游厅初步测算,全省各地合计接待游客1.37亿人次,旅游总收入2168.1亿元,成为继去年“近五年最热”暑期之后又一历史新高。
暑期是一年之中持续时间最长、消费规模最大的旅游旺季。今年6月以来,广东省文化和旅游厅围绕“请到广东过暑假”主题,按照提前预热、期中热推、期末加把火的节奏,推出系列文旅主题活动和一批季节性旅游产品,广东暑期接待游客人数、旅游总收入及游客人均花费等核心指标均达到历史最好水平。
据初步测算,暑期全省各地合计接待游客1.37亿人次(约占全国10%),同比增长15.1%(约较全国高10个百分点),实现旅游总收入2168.1亿元(占全国比重15%),同比增长16.2%(约较全国高7.5个百分点);其中接待国内游客1.2亿人次,同比增长16.1%,实现国内旅游收入1832.2亿元,同比增长17.9%;接待入境游客1538.1万人次,同比增长8.3%,实现旅游外汇收入335.8亿元。游客人均花费1582元,同比增长0.9%,全省游客消费韧性持续展现。
据携程数据显示,广东省暑期消费总额、抵达人次均排名全国各省(市区)首位。另外,多家OTA平台数据显示,暑假以来目的地为广东的暑期入境游订单量同比增长117%,机票预订单量同比增长8%。
