From September 15th to 17th, during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Guangzhou will host the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Themed Cultural Event, titled "Mid-Autumn in Guangzhou: Gathering in Guangdong". As the main event of Guangdong's "Our Festival: Mid-Autumn 2024" series, the celebration will welcome nearly 200 domestic and international guests to explore the city, experience the customs and traditions of the Cantonese Mid-Autumn Festival, and enjoy the scenic beauty of Guangzhou.

The event will feature a blend of public recruitment and special invitations, bringing together around 100 couples and families of golden wedding, silver wedding, and newly married couples, as well as representatives of civilized families and distinctive families from home and abroad. Participants will experience the charm of Guangzhou's Mid-Autumn traditions, savor southern Chinese cuisine, and immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Lingnan and Cantonese traditions, while also witnessing the historical and modern vibrancy of the international metropolis Guangzhou. Additionally, by encouraging participants to share their personal experiences,the event aims to promote Guangzhou's cultural and tourism resources to a wider audience, telling the stories of Guangdong and Guangzhou in the new era to the world.

On the afternoon of September 15th, participants toured the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Center and visited Yunxi Botanical Garden. Hu Huizhen, the director of a neighborhood committee from Shantou's Jinping District and a guest of honor at the event, expressed her excitement: "I've visited Guangzhou many times before, but always for work. This time, I look forward to exploring the city more thoroughly and gaining a deeper understanding of Cantonese culture."

The event will feature traditional cuisines from Guangzhou, Chaoshan, and Hakka regions, as well as Cantonese dim sum, highlighting the city's culinary culture under the themes "Delicious Guangdong" and "Food in Guangzhou". Attendees will visit cultural landmarks such as Yong Qing Fang, the Guangdong Yueju Opera Theater, the Bai'etan Greater Bay Area Art Center, Zhenhai Tower, and the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, showcasing Guangzhou's rich history. Additional activities will include a Mid-Autumn lantern festival, moon-viewing boat tours, wedding customs experiences, and mooncake-making sessions to celebrate the festive spirit. Participants will also explore modern attractions like the Canton Tower, Chimelong Safari Park, Chimelong Paradise, and the Grandview Aquarium, offering a glimpse into the city's contemporary lifestyle.

Moreover, the organizers have arranged nearly 10 special cultural experiences, such as a wedding certificate ceremony for newly married couples on the Canton Tower's outdoor observation deck and a themed gala dinner at Guangzhou Restaurant, marking the occasion with the "Mid-Autumn in Guangzhou: Gathering in Guangdong" celebration.

“中秋穗月 相约广东”，广州中秋节主题文化活动开启

9月15日-17日，中秋节假期期间，广州市举办“中秋穗月 相约广东”——2024年广州中秋节主题文化活动。作为2024年广东“我们的节日·中秋”主会场活动，此次活动邀请国内外近200人相聚羊城，畅游云山珠水，体验广府中秋风俗人情。

据介绍，本次活动通过定向招募和重点邀约相结合的方式，邀请国内外百对（户）金婚、银婚、新婚夫妇及文明家庭、特色家庭代表近200人相聚广州，畅游云山珠水，品尝南粤美食，体验广府中秋风俗人情，感受中华优秀传统文化和岭南文化的独特魅力，感受广州国际化大都市的历史人文和创新活力。并以此为契机，借助参加活动的国内外家庭嘉宾亲身体验和见闻分享，面向国内外进一步推介广州文旅资源，讲好新时代广东故事、广州故事。

9月15日下午，活动团队成员现场参观了广州市城市规划展览中心，并游览了云溪植物园。受邀参加此次活动的“广东好人”，汕头市金平区小公园街道社区党委书记、居委会主任胡慧真对记者表示，对于此次活动非常期待，“以前来过很多次广州，但都是过来工作的，没有时间好好游玩。希望通过这次活动，好好地逛逛广州，深入了解广府文化。”

据悉，本次活动安排了广府、潮汕、客家三地传统美食和广式茶点，展示“好吃广东”“食在广州”的饮食文化；安排了永庆坊、粤剧艺术博物院、大湾区艺术中心、镇海楼、南越王墓等景点活动，展示广州历史文化；安排了中秋灯会、游船赏月、婚俗体验、月饼制作等活动展示中秋节庆文化；安排了游玩广州塔、长隆野生动物世界、长隆欢乐世界、正佳海洋馆等，展示现代都市生活时尚。

此外，活动主办方还安排了近10场节庆文化体验活动，如在广州塔户外观景平台举办新婚夫妇婚书颁发仪式，在广州酒家举办“中秋穗月相约广东”主题晚宴等。
