'Black Myth: Wukong' boosts Shanxi Tourism for National Day Holiday

On August 25th, the "Report on 2024 National Day Golden Week Domestic Travel Trend" was released, offering an analysis and forecast of travel trends for the National Day holiday. According to the report, family travelers with children and working professionals will be the main forces driving domestic travel during this period. Shanxi Province, propelled into the spotlight by the Chinese AAA game "Black Myth: Wukong," is expected to be the standout destination for interprovincial travel during the National Day holiday.

The Golden Week coincides with the first wave of autumn foliage in Northwest China. Based on bookings for domestic interprovincial travel products from September 28th to October 7th, the Northwest and North China regions are seeing the most favorable pre-sale numbers. Visitors to just Qinghai, Gansu, Xinjiang, and Shanxi make up about 55% of the first wave of bookings.

Notably, "Black Myth: Wukong" has spiked interest in Shanxi, where 27 out of the game's 36 domestic filming locations are found, significantly boosting the area's cultural and tourism appeal. Travel agencies have capitalized on this trend by launching tours and self-drive packages that allow tourists to visit multiple game-related locations, making these routes some of the most sought-after for the National Day holiday.

According to the survey data, nearly 40% of respondents planning to travel during National Day are working professionals aged 20-45. Among these, over 70% expressed a desire for a relaxing holiday that includes "sufficient sleep," "leisurely journey," and "one-stop vocation experiences," indicating a strong demand for leisure-focused travel.

Industry experts note that in recent years, more working professionals have shifted from self-guided tours to group tours, a trend particularly noticeable among the post-2000 generation. As a result, creating travel products tailored to young people's preferences has become a key focus for travel agencies, with "Black Myth: Wukong"-themed tours fitting this demand perfectly. Additionally, boutique small group tours, private family tours, and RV self-drive tours, which are favored for their privacy, are also increasingly popular among young working professionals.

The report concludes that as the last public holiday of the year, the 2024 National Day Golden Week is a prime opportunity for working individuals to take extended vacations. Choosing travel dates after October 6th offers the advantage of avoiding the peak travel period.

《黑神话:悟空》带火国庆山西游

8月25日,《2024年国庆黄金周国内游趋势报告》发布,对国庆期间出游展开分析预测。根据《报告》,亲子家庭和上班族将成为国庆国内游的主力。被中国3A游戏大作《黑神话:悟空》带火的山西省,将是国庆跨省游最闪耀的一匹“黑马”。

国庆黄金周恰好与西北地区第一波秋色观赏期重叠,从9月28日-10月7日出发的国内跨省游产品来看,西北、华北片区的预售情况目前最为理想,仅青海甘肃、新疆、山西三地的游客人数就约占首批报名游客总数的55%。

值得一提的是,因国产3A游戏大作《黑神话:悟空》36个国内取景地中,27个位于山西,带动该片区文旅热度直线上升,相关旅游线路也成为国庆出游的“香饽饽”,旅行社趁势推出打卡多个游戏取景地的跟团及自驾游产品,抢占国庆市场。

根据《报告》调研数据,在国庆计划出游的受访者中,有近四成是“20-45岁在职人士”,其中超过70%的受访者对于国庆旅游的期待包括“保证足够的睡眠时间”“行程不要太赶”“一站式度假”等,显示休闲度假方面的强烈需求。

业界人士表示,近年来,越来越多上班族从自由行转投跟团游,这一现象在00后年轻群体中尤为明显,因此,为年轻人量身定做适合他们的产品成为旅行社的重点研究课题,《黑神话:悟空》就很好地契合了这一点。此外,同样受到年轻工薪一族偏爱的还有私密性较强的精品小团、一家一团及房车自驾等组团方式。

《报告》指出,作为本年度最后一个公众假期,2024年国庆黄金周还将会成为在职人士拼假出游的重要时间节点,选择10月6日后出发的线路,错峰出游优势将更为明显。
