Michelle Liu, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Asia Pacific, Tate & Lyle, the parent company of Quantum High-Techtold, reporter from the Yangcheng Evening News that Tate & Lyle wholly acquired Quantum High-Tech in 2022 for $237 million (about RMB1.6 billion), which is a leading enterprise in the global prebiotic industry that started locally in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, focusing on the research and development, production, and sales of prebiotic dietary fibre products, such as oligofructose, oligogalactose and so on, and has been in the industry for more than 20 years and is ranked No. 1 in the domestic market. Since then, Tate & Lyle has forged an indissoluble bond with Jiangmen and Guangdong. The acquisition has directly contributed RMB340 million in tax revenue to the Guangdong economy.

"Previously, we did not have a R&D and production base in South China, but now we are opening up a brand new stronghold through the acquisition of Quantum High-Tech, which is not only a production base, but more of a R&D centre and sales outlet, expanding the Tate & Lyle Group's presence in Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as another strategic stronghold in our global growth market."Liu said, as a provincial key foreign investment project just invested in Guangdong, they are very grateful to Guangdong Government for giving the strongest support and help in the acquisition of the enterprise as well as the toughest stage of integration. 量子高科母公司、英国泰莱集团(Tate & Lyle)亚太区企业事务副总裁刘晓向羊城晚报记者表示，泰莱集团在2022年以2.37亿美金（约合人民币16亿元）全资收购量子高科。量子高科是广东江门本土起家的全球益生元产业龙头企业，主打研发生产销售低聚果糖、低聚半乳糖等益生元膳食纤维产品，深耕行业超过20 年，国内市场排名第一。自此集团与江门、与广东结下了不解之缘。整个收购交易已直接为广东经济贡献税收人民币 3.4 亿元。“以前我们在华南没有研发和生产基地，现在通过收购量子高科开拓全新据点，这据点不仅是生产基地，更加是研发中心及销售网点，扩大了泰莱集团在广东、在粤港澳大湾区的布局，作为我们全球增长市场的又一个战略据点。”
