Themed"Jianjiang Dragon Boat Race - Dragon Rising in Water Town", the 2023 Dragon Boat Culture Week in Daliang, Shunde officially kicked off on June 22nd. On the Daliang River, many local residents and tourists were attracted by a series of activities, including decorating contests and races of dragon boats, as well as feasts on dragon boats.
This year,44 traditional dragon boats from21 communities (or villages) were newly decorated, with nearly 1,500 paddlers gathering on the river opposite Fengcheng Food Capital in Daliang, where a grand dragon boat parade with thousands of participants was staged again.
After the eye-dotting ceremony (a tradition to paint the pupils on the eyes of the dragon boats), the 44 dragon boats set off along the Daliang River toward Fengshan Bridge, displaying their unique charm to the audience during the Dragon Boat Festival. A tourist from Huadu District, Guangzhou City, who brought her family to Shunde for a visit, said"It's very lively and happy. I've hardly seen such a large-scale dragon boat event in Huadu. And it is a different experience for Dragon Boat Festival."
A special floating market was set up in Daliang at the First Wharf nearby, attracting many locals to participate. Small boats were filled with cultural and creative products and festive snacks for enthusiastic displays and sales, which recreated the bustling life in the waterfront bazaars of the ancient First Wharf.
Notably, there was also a dragon boat race for a speed contest in addition to the parade for a beauty contest in the afternoon. The race was divided into two tracks, with a distance of 400 meters, running from Liangkai Bridge to Jinliang Old Bridge. In the end, the Daliang Dragon Boat Association team, Central Daliang Jianjiang Dragon Boat Club, and Xiaowan Erdi (dual gods) Ancient Temple Dragon Boat team won first, second, and third place respectively.
Except for colorful dragon boat activities, eating dragon boat rice (or longzhou rice, a dish for Dragon Boat Festival) is also a tradition not to be missed during the Dragon Boat Festival. Reporters learned that there were grand and festive dragon boat feasts organized in Fengcheng Food Capital, Jinliang Community, and Honggang Community on the night of June 22nd, among which 30 tables were offered in Fengcheng Food Capital, 200 in Jinliang Community and 248 in Honggang Community. At the event, friends and family chatted while enjoying delicious dishes, embracing a happy experience of the Dragon Boat Festival together.

6月22日，“鉴江竞渡龙腾水乡”2023佛山顺德大良端午龙舟文化周正式启动。在大良河上，彩龙争相竞艳、游龙竞速破浪、龙船佳宴品尝等一系列活动吸引了众多市民游客围观。
今年，来自21个社区（村）的44艘传统龙船装扮一新，近1500名扒手把龙船集中在凤城食都对开河面上，千人龙舟大巡游再度上演。
在点睛仪式后，44艘龙舟沿着大良河往凤山桥方向出发巡游，向两岸群众展示大良龙船不一样的端午风采。来自广州花都的黄阿姨带着一家人来顺德游玩，她表示：“非常热闹非常开心，我在花都那边几乎没见过这么大型的龙舟活动，今天来这里也是体验到了不一样的端午。”
在不远处的第一码头，大良特别设置了水上集市，吸引不少市民参与。盛满文创产品、应节小吃等的小艇，向市民游客热情展示和销售，热闹喧嚣的水上集市再次重现旧时第一码头的市井生活。
值得一提的是，当天下午，除了“比美”的巡游活动，还有“比速”的游龙竞渡节目。据了解，活动分两赛道竞赛，竞赛距离400米，从梁开桥往近良旧桥方向单向竞速。最后，大良龙舟协会队、大良中区鉴江龙船会龙船、小湾二帝古庙龙船分别获得第一、第二、第三名。
过端午除了要看精彩纷呈的龙舟活动，还得品尝一下龙船饭。据了解，当晚大良的凤城食都、近良社区、红岗社区等组织了隆重而盛大的龙船饭。记者了解到，凤城食都共有30围，近良社区共有200围，红岗社区共有248围，市民朋友一边与亲朋畅聊，一边品尝美味佳肴，愉快地度过端午节。
