On June 18, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Shantou Pre-made Food Expo took place at the Chaoshan Expo Center in Longhu District, Shantou City. The event brought together more than 50 local food and pre-made food enterprises, attracting a large crowd eager to savor the tantalizing dishes offered at stalls featuring spiced roast goose, rice cakes, beef meatballs, and more.

Located by the sea, Shantou has always embraced its coastal cuisine, thriving on abundant seafood resources. With a solid foundation in the food industry, enterprises, and industrial sectors, as well as a pool of technical and scientific professionals, Shantou is well-positioned to support the development of the pre-made food industry. The advantages of diverse "Chaoshan (Chaozhou City and Shantou City)" dishes, fresh ingredients, and mature culinarytechniques lay a solid foundation for the growth of the pre-made food sector.

During the opening ceremony, the Shantou Pre-made Food New Product Development Center and the Shantou Pre-made Food Supermarket were officially unveiled. Nine enterprises were honored with the "Shantou Gourmet, Flavorful Delights" Star Enterprise title, while the list of 34 "Shantou Gourmet, Flavorful Delights" recommended enterprises and 11 outstanding cooperative institutions was announced. It is worth mentioning that the offline exhibition and sales activities will last for two days, providing a fresh option for weekend leisure and entertainment for the residents.

In recent years, Shantou's pre-made food industry has shown strong growth momentum. In 2021, the city's food manufacturing industry recorded a production value of 7.135 billion yuan. Shantou's beef meatball industry has become a massive sector with a production value exceeding 10 billion yuan, even making its mark on the dining tables at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Also, the value generated by the industrial chain of spiced roast lion-head goose exceeded 3.5 billion yuan, while the output of Dahao fish meatballs has reached over 3,000 tons annually, with a production value exceeding 500 million yuan.

Shantou is home to nearly 2,000 food processing enterprises, boasting a mature industrial chain. Currently, there are over 30 large-scale enterprises engaged in pre-made food production in the city. Many iconic "Chaoshan" delicacies, such as fangbianfen (rice noodles), lion-head goose, beef meatballs, and Chaoshan-style dim sum, are also being developed as pre-made food options, catering to the growing demand in the market.

首届汕头预制菜美食博览会开幕

6月18日，2023汕头预制菜美食博览会开幕式在汕头市龙湖区潮汕博览中心举行，汇聚了超过50家汕头美食企业、预制菜企业参展，现场的卤鹅、粿品、牛肉丸等美食摊位吸引大量群众前往品鉴。

汕头靠海吃海，向海而兴，水产丰饶，食品行业、企业、工业的基础深厚，技术人员、科技力量等方面的储备丰富，“潮菜”菜品多样、食材新鲜、工艺成熟等优势，为预制菜产业发展奠定坚实基础。

开幕式上，汕头市预制菜新品研发中心和汕头市预制菜大卖场正式揭牌。9家企业获颁“美食汕头 风味人间”明星企业称号，34家“美食汕头 风味人间”推荐企业和11家优秀合作单位获奖名单在会上公布。据了解，会场线下展销活动将持续2天，为市民周末休闲娱乐提供全新选择。

近年来，汕头预制菜产业整体发展势头强劲。2021年，汕头全市规模以上食品制造业产值71.35 亿元。汕头牛肉丸形成了产值逾百亿元的庞大产业，并成功登上2022年北京冬奥会餐桌；2021年，卤狮头鹅全产业链创值超35亿元；达濠鱼丸年产量超3000吨，产值超5亿元……

汕头市从事食品生产的企业近2000家，产业链成熟，目前全市从事预制菜生产、规模较大的企业有30多家，方便粉（粿条）、狮头鹅、牛肉丸、潮式点心等众多“潮”味菜品，也正在被开发成预制菜。
