Over 30 presidents, editors-in-chief and journalists from 27 Chinese media from five continents visited Jiangmen, Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong to deeply experience the local historical accumulation and the charm of the development of the Guangdong- Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) from May 18th to 20th, after the 2023 Overseas Chinese Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Conference(OCBC).

Expecting more domestic enterprises to explore overseas markets

The first stop on the agenda was Lee Kum Kee (Xinhui) Food Co., Ltd. in Jiangmen, Guangdong. During the tour, Wu Xinxiong, Assistant Director of the China Affairs Office in International Daily News, posed questions to the company's director about issues that interested him. What struck Wu most was the saying "Where there are Chinese, there is Lee Kum Kee" since products from Lee Kum Kee could be seen overseas frequently.Through his conversations with the person in charge, Wu found that these seasoning products have gone global, even "flown into space".

"Both Fuhua in Jiangmen and BYD in Shenzhen have carved out a niche in the international market due to their technological breakthroughs and irreplaceable technical products with full intellectual property rights, which is of great importance for China," exclaimed Huang Xiaodong, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Sing Tao Daily Overseas at Guangdong Fuwa Engineering Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Jiangmen when he learned that a batch of self-developed products had been recognised and bought by European countries. 

Praise for Guangdong's ecological protection of the environment

The Chinese media representatives also visited a national wetland park Bird Paradise in Xinhui and another one in Guangzhou.

In Xinhui,representatives raised questions about bird droppings, and the local guide explained that the droppings bring an effective ecological cycle for its entering into the nearby rivers by the flow.

" Bird Paradise is very well protected, and we can see the tremendous efforts Guangdong has made in ecological environment protection," said Xu Pinhua, the president of the European Huaxin Newspaper. He will introduce more about Guangdong's ecological environment construction to European people with his experience here.

Liu Lanling, a reporter from Qiandao Ribao, said after learning about the Haizhu Gaoqi Deep Ditch System, a traditional agricultural system in the Haizhu National Wetland Park in Guangzhou, "It's amazing that we can maintain the park in a first-tier city where land is so precious. This shows the country's high attention for environmental protection and also Guangzhou's huge contribution to ecological preservation."

Providing more quality information to overseas Chinese

Historically, Guangdong has been the province with the earliest and largest number of overseas Chinese immigrants and sea trade in China, with overseas Chinese descent originating from Guangdong of over 30 million. Therefore, overseas Chinese have been in great concern about the development of their hometown.

Wu Zhaohui, the editor-in-chief of the World Journal who has not participated in similar activities in China for a long time, told the Yangcheng Evening News reporter, "Local Chinese in the Philippines are eager for information about the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, especially investment, business, and trade information."

Sheng Lingfang, a reporter from the Hong Kong Commercial Daily, mentioned that "Overseas Chinese and compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao are also interested in the development of China in economy and high-technology, and we will actively provide content in this regard."

Huang Xiaodong also told reporter that the Sing Tao Daily, as a newspaper that has been around for more than 80 years, is also actively integrating into the development of social media platforms. "We also seek innovation and change based on the different ages and needs of our readers."

27家华文媒体深度体验粤港澳大湾区发展

5月18日至22日，2023华侨华人粤港澳大湾区大会结束后，来自全球五大洲27家华文媒体的30多位社长、总编和记者走访广东江门、深圳、广州三地，感受广东历史积淀，深度体验粤港澳大湾区的发展魅力。

期待更多企业走出国门

采访行程第一站是位于广东江门的李锦记（新会）食品有限公司。在参观过程中，国际日报中国事务部主任助理伍新雄就自己感兴趣的问题，多次向公司负责人提问。“我感触最深的是那句‘有华人的地方就有李锦记’。”伍新雄说，身在海外，他们经常能看到李锦记的产品，通过与企业负责人的对话，发现这些调味产品不仅走出了国门，还“飞上了太空”，这让他感到非常震撼。

在江门的广东富华重工制造有限公司，星岛日报海外版执行总编辑黄晓东在得知有一批自主研发的产品被欧洲国家认可并采买的时候，感叹道：“太不容易了。我们国家需要这样的企业。无论是江门的富华还是深圳的比亚迪，能够在国际市场上占据一席之地，是因为他们在技术上取得突破，生产出不可替代的、具有完全知识产权的技术产品。”

点赞广东生态环境保护建设

此次华文媒体团还走访了新会的小鸟天堂国家湿地公园、广州海珠国家湿地公园等地。

在小鸟天堂，有华文媒体就鸟粪的富氧化问题提出疑问，当地的导游解释，鸟类的粪便随着河水的流动进入附近的江河，形成了有效的生态循环。

“小鸟天堂保护得非常好，可以看到广东在生态环境方面作出的巨大努力。”欧洲华信报社长徐品华表示，他将借助此次采风机会，多向欧洲民众讲述广东的生态环境建设。

沿着广州海珠国家湿地公园的研学路径了解高畦深沟传统农业系统后，千岛日报记者刘兰玲表示：“在一线城市寸土寸金的地方，能保有海珠国家湿地公园，说明祖国对环保的高度重视，也是广州对生态保护作出的巨大贡献。”

向海外侨胞提供更多优质资讯

广东历史上是中国海上贸易和向海外移民最早最多的省份，祖籍广东的华人华侨约有3000多万人。一直以来，广东的发展也牵动着华侨华人的心。

久未回国参加类似活动的世界日报新闻主编吴朝晖告诉羊城晚报记者，“在菲律宾的当地华侨华人，非常想了解粤港澳大湾区的资讯，尤其是投资、商业、经贸等资讯。”

香港商报记者盛玲芳提到：“海外侨胞还有港澳同胞对国家的经济和高科技发展感兴趣，我们会积极提供这方面的内容。”

黄晓东告诉记者，星岛日报作为一张超过80年的报纸，也在积极融入网络社交平台的发展。“我们也根据读者对象年龄层与需求的不同，求新求变。”
