#TheGreatBeautyofGuangdong May 18 marks the annual International Museum Day. This year, Dongguan City Museum organized an opening gala and put the spotlight on the theme of Return of National Treasure—Special Exhibition of Bronze Animal Heads from Old Summer Palace and Repatriated Cultural Relics from Overseas. Extending to August 27, the grand exhibition is divided into four sub-themes— “Gathering in Prosperous Times”, “Bronze Age”, “Buddha Statue playback” and “ Buddhist Art on the Plateau”—showcasing 86 precious items ranging from the Qing dynasty bronze animal heads from old summer palace, the Shang and Zhou dynasties’ bronze wares, to the Northern and Southern Dynasties’ Buddhist statues of Qingzhou and the Ming and Qing dynasties’ Gilt Bronze Buddha Statues respectively.

5月18日晚,2023年“5·18国际博物馆日”东莞市主会场启动仪式暨“博学东莞”系列主题展览之“国宝归来——圆明园兽首暨海外回流文物特展”开幕仪式在东莞市博物馆举行。展览展期将持续至8月27日,共分“盛世聚首”“青铜时代”“妙相重光”“雪域梵华”四部分,分别展示清代圆明园兽首铜像、商周青铜器、南北朝青州佛造像、明清鎏金铜佛等共计86件珍贵文物展品。
