Tea enthusiasts, industry leaders, and artisans gathered in Chaozhou on May 12th for the highly anticipated 2023 Chaozhou Gongfu Tea Conference. With the theme of "Culture of Chaozhou, Gongfu Tea of the World", the convention showcased a variety of events focused on tea, food, and tourism. It highlighted the region's two iconic tea varieties, Phoenix Dancong Tea and Chaozhou Gongfu Tea. During the opening ceremony, the China International Tea Culture Institute awarded Chaozhou with the title of "World Hometown of Gongfu Tea Culture".

The convention, which aims to promote cultural exchange, advance tea industry development, and enhance tea technology, featured 500 exhibition booths across six main areas: Phoenix Dancong Tea, tea industry branding, top 10 Chinese tea brands, supporting industries, tea packaging/machinery, and tea cultural activities.

The exhibition offered a diverse array of premium teas, tea sets, tea machinery, tea-themed creative products, and innovative tea drinks, presenting the impressive growth of Guangdong's tea industry. The convention proved to be a successful gathering for tea enthusiasts and industry professionals alike, with ample opportunities for networking, learning, and exploring all things tea.

Promote Chaozhou's Phoenix Dancong Tea across China

The China International Tea Culture Institute awarded Chaozhou the title of "World Hometown of Gongfu Tea Culture" at the opening ceremony of the conference. To further increase the popularity and influence of Phoenix Dancong tea, a "National Tour of Phoenix Dancong Tea" was launched at the ceremony. Representatives from various tea-producing areas in Chaozhou will travel to core tea-producing areas across the country to promote the tea and lay a solid foundation for its nationwide and global distribution.

In recent years, Chaozhou has been promoting the development of its tea industry, boosting tea production and stimulating economic growth. They have constructed three large modern agricultural industry parks at the provincial level, and five planting town each covering over 10,000 mu（667 hectares), as well as more than 100 tea-planting villages. Additionally, they have planned to invest 4.226 billion yuan to build the Phoenix Mountain Tea Tourism Corridor, covering an area of 465 square kilometers. This project aims to create a new model for protecting and developing agricultural cultural heritage worldwide, as well as the integration of cultural tourism and development.

In 2022, the tea planting area in Chaozhou City reached 241,200 mu, with an annual production of over 30,000 tons of dried tea leaves, and a production value of 7.318 billion yuan. The combined production value of the tertiary industry is about 26 billion yuan, and the average income of tea farmers involved in the industry exceeds 30,000 yuan per year. The vision of "one tea leaf creating an industry, and tea industry bringing wealth to the local people" is becoming a reality in Chaozhou.

茶饮、茶事、茶艺争奇斗艳，茶协、茶商、茶人齐聚一堂……5月12日，2023潮州工夫茶大会在潮州市人民广场开幕。大会以“文化潮州·工夫天下”为主题，整合茶叶、美食、旅游等优势产业资源打造多种主题活动，擦亮“凤凰单丛茶”“潮州工夫茶”两块金字招牌。

本次大会旨在促进茶文化交流、推进茶产业发展、助力茶科技赋能。

开幕式当天，潮州凤凰单丛茶展区、茶产业品牌展区、全国十大品牌展区、茶产业配套区、茶叶包装/机械展区、茶文化活动区六大主题展区合计500个展位同步亮相，各式名优茶品，以及茶具茶器、茶机械、茶文创、新式茶饮等茶产业链相关产品琳琅满目，充分展现了广东茶全产业链发展成果。

凤凰单丛强势出征

中国国际茶文化研究会授予了潮州“世界工夫茶文化之乡”称号。

为进一步扩大凤凰单丛知名度和影响力，开幕式上举行了“凤凰单丛茶全国行”出征仪式。潮州各茶产区代表将组团从潮州出发，走向全国各个核心茶产区，通过与沿途茶商、茶客的交流，推介凤凰单丛茶，为走向全国、飘香世界打下坚实基础。

近年来，潮州坚持以茶促产、以茶兴业，高标准建设广东省凤凰单丛茶跨县集群产业园等3大省级现代农业产业园、潮安区凤凰镇等5个万亩茶叶专业镇以及100多个茶叶专业村，高起点规划占地465平方公里、总投资42.26亿元的凤凰山茶旅走廊，着力打造全球农业文化遗产保护开发新典范、文化旅游融合发展新品牌。

2022年，潮州市茶叶种植面积达24.12万亩，年产干毛茶3万多吨，毛茶产值73.18亿元，三产产值合计约260亿元，茶农人均涉茶收入超3万元。“一片叶子成就一个产业，富裕一方百姓”的美好愿景在潮州正一步步变成现实。
