On April 19th, the Guangdong Investigation Division of the National Bureau of Statistics released data on the income and consumption of Guangdong residents in the first quarter of 2023. According to the data, the per capita disposable income of Guangdong residents in the first quarter was 13,867 yuan, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year. The per capita consumption expenditure reached 8,554 yuan, an increase of 1.9% year-on-year.

Fast growth in net operating income

The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 16,758 yuan, an increase of 3.3%, and an actual increase of 1.8% (excluding price factors). The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 6,985 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, and an actual increase of 4.2% (excluding price factors). The growth rate of per capita disposable income of rural residents was 1.9 percentage points higher than that of urban residents.

There were increases in all four categories of income in the first quarter of the year. The per capita wage income of Guangdong residents was 9,395 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%; the per capita net operating income was 1,604 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%; the per capita net property income was 1,960 yuan, a stable increase of 2.7%; and the per capita net transfer income was 908 yuan, steadily increasing by 3.7%.

It is worth noting that with the accelerating economic recovery and stabilizing employment, wage income became the main source of residents' income, accounting for 56%. Thanks to the active market, the average per capita net income from operating activities increases faster than the other three categories of income (wage income, property income, and transfer income).

Rural household consumption expenditure growth outpaces that of urban households

In terms of consumption expenditure, the per capita consumption expenditure of Guangdong residents was 8,554 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%. As for the breakdown by urban and rural areas, the per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents was 9,806 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%, while the per capita consumption expenditure of rural residents was 5,574 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%.

In terms of consumption categories, Guangdong residents' expenditure on medical care and other goods and services achieved double-digit growth, increasing by 18.8% and 16.9%, respectively. Expenditure on housing and education, culture and entertainment increased steadily by 6.4% and 5.8%, respectively. However, expenditure on food, tobacco and alcohol, clothing, daily necessities and services, and transportation and communication decreased by 3.8%, 3.0%, 3.5%, and 0.2% year-on-year, respectively.

As for prices, the consumer price index (CPI) of Guangdong residents rose by 1.4% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points from the same period last year. On a monthly basis, affected by the New Year's Day and Spring Festival, and the fact that the two festivals fell in different months, the Guangdong CPI increased by 1.0% month-on-month and 2.7% year-on-year in January. In February and March, as the holiday effects faded, the CPI decreased by 0.9% and 0.3% month-on-month, respectively, but still increased by 0.8% year-on-year in both months.

一季度广东居民人均可支配收入13867元，同比增长3.8%

4月19日，国家统计局广东调查总队发布了一季度广东居民收入及消费支出数据情况。数据显示，2023年一季度，广东居民人均可支配收入13867元，同比增长（以下如无特别说明，均为同比名义增速）3.8%，人均消费支出8554元，同比增长1.9%。

经营净收入增长快

分城乡看，城镇居民人均可支配收入16758元，同比增长3.3%，扣除价格因素，实际增长1.8%；农村居民人均可支配收入6985元，同比增长5.2%，扣除价格因素，实际增长4.2%。农村居民人均可支配收入增速快于城镇居民1.9个百分点。

按收入来源分，四大类收入均实现增长。一季度，广东居民人均工资性收入9395元，同比增长3.6%；人均经营净收入1604元，同比增长6.4%；人均财产净收入1960元，平稳增长2.7%；人均转移净收入908元，稳步增长3.7%。

值得注意的是，一季度，随着经济加快恢复，就业趋于稳定，工资性收入成为居民收入的大头，占比达到56%；而市场的活跃则带来了经营收入的增长，人均经营净收入在四大来源中增长最快。

农村居民消费支出增速高于城镇居民

一季度，广东居民人均消费支出8554元，同比增长1.9%。分城乡看，城镇居民人均消费支出9806元，同比增长1.7%；农村居民人均消费支出5574元，同比增长1.8%。

按消费类别分，一季度广东居民医疗保健支出、其他用品及服务支出实现两位数增长，分别增长18.8%、16.9%；居住支出、教育文化娱乐支出分别平稳增长6.4%、5.8%；食品烟酒支出、衣着支出、生活用品及服务支出、交通通信支出分别同比下降3.8%、3.0%、3.5%和0.2%。

物价方面，一季度，广东居民消费价格指数（CPI）同比上涨1.4%，涨幅比上年同期回落0.3个百分点。从月度价格走势看，受元旦和春节因素影响，加之春节错月，1月份广东CPI环比上涨1.0%，同比上涨2.7%；2、3月份节后回落，CPI环比下降0.9%和0.3%，同比均上涨0.8%。
