Over 34,000 export-oriented enterprises have confirmed their participation in the upcoming 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), including 27 leading multinational corporations, according to a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on April 4.
Wang Shouwen, international trade negotiator and vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, said that since its establishment in 1957, the Canton Fair has been held 132 editions. And Ministry of Commerce has done lots of work to improve this year's edition in five aspects - a new exhibition hall, new themes, new exhibitors, the debut of new products, and the normalized operation of an online platform.
According to Wang Shouwen, the 133rd Canton Fair will be held in three phases, each lasting five days. The total exhibition area reaches 1.5 million square meters, including the export exhibition area of 1.47 million square meters and the import exhibition area of 30,000 square meters. The export exhibition will be divided into 54 exhibition areas based on 16 major product categories, with around 70,000 booths and over 34,000 participating enterprises. Among them, approximately 5,700 are brand enterprises or companies that hold the title of national high-tech enterprise or manufacturing industry champions.
The import exhibition will be held in all three phases for the first time, attracting 508 overseas enterprises from 40 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, and Spain. In addition, with further optimized functions, the online exhibition will have more than 35,000 participating enterprises.
Wang Shouwen stated that the Canton Fair has stepped up its efforts to attract global investment. Through the efforts of 224 Chinese overseas embassies and consulates, 67 foreign consulates in Guangzhou, and over 180 global partners of the Canton Fair, invitations have been sent to buyers from all over the world.
Furthermore, the fair has focused on key markets, conducting precise one-on-one investment promotion and organizing 10 routes to key regions at home and abroad for publicity and promotion. Over 40 "Trade Bridges" events have been held for buyers to connect with suppliers, and 14 Chinese and international retail giants and well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms have been invited to purchase.
According to Chu Shijia, Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, this year’s Canton Fair has received positive responses from the global business community, with an estimated number of buyers from over 220 countries and regions participating both online and offline.
As of April 3rd, 203 countries and regions have pre-registered to attend the offline exhibition, and the number of pre-registered participants is increasing rapidly every day. Among the key enterprises, 27 top multinational corporations, such as Walmart, Lifetime Brands , and Harbor Freight Tools have confirmed their attendance. Walmart (US) and NITORI (Japan) will each bring over 200 delegates, while LULU (the United Arab Emirates), Auchan (France), and Kopparberg (Mexico) will bring over 100 delegates each.
第133届广交会出口参展企业超3.4万家，27家头部跨国企业确认参会
4月4日，国新办举行新闻发布会，介绍第133届中国进出口商品交易会（广交会）有关情况。
商务部国际贸易谈判代表兼副部长王受文介绍，广交会从1957年开始举办，到今年已经办到第133届，商务部对即将召开的第133届广交会也作了一系列优化，呈现出“启用新展馆”、“增加新题材”、“新企业参展踊跃”、“新品首发首秀”和“常态化运营线上平台”五个新亮点
据王受文介绍，第133届广交会线下展分为三期举办，每期展览时长为5天，总展览面积150万平方米。其中，出口展147万平方米，进口展3万平方米。出口展按16大类商品设置54个展区，展位约7万个，参展企业超过3.4万家，其中品牌企业或者拥有制造业单项冠军、国家级高新技术企业称号的企业共计约5700家。进口展首次在三个展期均设立，共有来自美国、加拿大、意大利、德国、西班牙等40个国家和地区的508家境外企业参展。线上展参展企业超过3.5万家，平台功能进一步优化。
王受文表示，本届广交会加大全球招商力度，先后通过224家我驻外使领馆经商机构、67家外国驻穗总领馆和180多个广交会全球合作伙伴，向全世界各国各地区采购商发出邀请。同时，聚焦重点市场，开展“一对一”精准招商，组织10条线路赴境内外重点地区宣传推介，举办40余场“贸易之桥”供采对接活动，邀请14家国内外零售巨头、知名跨境电商平台驻点采购。
中国对外贸易中心主任储士家介绍，本届广交会全球工商界反响强烈，预计有220多个国家和地区的采购商线上线下参会。截至4月3日，已有203个国家和地区的采购商预登记参加线下展，现在预登记的参展人数每天都在快速增加。从重点企业看，美国沃尔玛、生牌、中央采购、史泰博、法国欧尚、家乐福、德国历德、日本似鸟、阿联酋LULU、墨西哥科佩尔、香港屈臣氏等27家头部跨国企业确认参会。美国沃尔玛、日本似鸟团组人数超过200人，阿联酋LULU、法国欧尚、墨西哥科佩尔等5个团组人数都超过100人。
