From March 27 to 28, 21 international students from nine countries visited the villages in northern Guangdong. They engaged in the theme activity of "Perceiving China - the Road to Revitalization of Shaoguan Countryside in Guangdong".

The international students came to Yangpi village to investigate the taro industry chain and visited the village's black tomato planting test field. The village plans to establish a processing plant, so asto create an industrial chain consisting of taro plantation, primary processing,and cold chain storage, which canenhance the added value of the product.

The staff introduced to the international students the great achievements of China in eliminating absolute poverty and continuous monitoring and assistance mechanisms forpreventingpopulations that have been lifted out of poverty from falling back into it again. The villagers shared their home-grown taro and sweet potatoes, while the village children performed drumming and lion dance.

They went to the Bebei Town of Yuyuan, Shaoguan, a town in remote mountains, to learn about the culture of the Yao people, their intangible cultural heritage,and related cultural and creative products. Guoshan Yao people are one of the four major groups of Yao people, and Bebei Town is one of theirancestral homelands of themin Southeast Asia, Europe and America.

THANYADA, an international student from Thailand, said, "It is hard to imagine that in such a sparsely populated and remote village, all kinds of infrastructure such as water, electricity,and internet are in place."

"It's really great that such a remote mountain village can also have good roads and 5G signals for phones!" NISHADUR, an international student from Bangladesh, exclaimed.

BUI THI HOAI, a Vietnamese student, said that the Chinese government's projects couldsubstantiallyhelp people in less developed areas to improve their income and living standards.

The group of international students also went to Guitou Town Central Primary School to attendthe opening ceremony of "Small Mobile Classroom by International Students of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies", in which they will introduce the culture of Ecuador, France, Mali, Bangladesh, Japan, Thailand, Venezuela, Indonesia,and Vietnam.

NISHADUR, a student from Bangladesh, said, "I am happy to introduce my country to these children,and it's my honor to contribute to the friendship between the two countries."

九国留学生深入粤北农村，感受乡村振兴之美

3月27日至28日，来自9个国家的21名广东外语外贸大学外国留学生走进粤北乡村，开展“感知中国——粤美韶关乡村振兴之路”主题活动。

留学生一行来到阳陂村调研香芋产业链，参观了该村的黑番茄种植试验田。当地筹建加工厂，打造香芋种植、初加工、冷链仓储产业链，提升了产品附加值。

工作人员向留学生介绍中国消除绝对贫困的伟大成就和防返贫监测帮扶机制。村民拿出自家种植的香芋和红薯邀请留学生品尝，村里的小朋友表演了打鼓和舞狮。

留学生一行走进南岭深处的韶关乳源必背镇了解“过山瑶”文化，了解瑶族非物质文化遗产和相关文创产品。过山瑶是瑶族的重要分支之一，必背镇是东南亚、欧美等地区过山瑶的祖居地之一。

泰国留学生刘月莹（THANYADA）表示：“很难想象在这样居民稀少且偏远的村庄，水、电、网等各种基础设施都配套到位。”

“这么偏远的山村，也能有很好的公路，手机有5G信号，真的很棒！”孟加拉国留学生张浩（NISHADUR）感叹。

越南留学生裴小念（BUI THI HOAI）表示，中国政府的规划能够真正帮助欠发达地区的人民提高收入，提高生活水平。

留学生一行还走进桂头镇中心小学，见证“广东外语外贸大学外国留学生移动小课堂”揭牌。来自厄瓜多尔、法国、马里、孟加拉国、日本、泰国、委内瑞拉、印度尼西亚和越南的留学生为孩子们推介自己国家的文化。

孟加拉国的张浩（NISHADUR）说：“很高兴能让这些小朋友了解我的国家，也很荣幸能为两国的友好做一些力所能及的小事。”
