"Jie" was used to convey orders and messages for military and diplomatic purposes and as a passport in ancient China. There is a tiger-shaped Jie with golden inlay and inscription in the Nanyue King Museum.
The inscription on the passport can be interpreted as "to execute the king's order". One of the Chinese characters in the inscription was also discovered in the Baoshan tomb in Hubei Province, which used to be the Chu area in ancient China. It indicates that the tiger-shaped Jie should have been an antique from the Chu area and buried with the Nanyue king, Zhao Mo.
