In December, the white oil-seed camellias in Hongxing Village of Lianping, Heyuan are blooming all over the hills and valleys. Clusters of white petals dance with golden stamens, and the dark green leaves sway in the wind, adding a touch of warmth to the chill of winter.

The intoxicating fragrance of the flowers attracts many photographers and tourists, and they enjoy local specialties in the nearby guesthouse and farmhouse. The small village, blooming with oil-seed camellias, becomes a popular tourist destination.

Every year from October to February is the Guangdong oil-seed camellias flowering season. The province has now more than 1 million mu of oil-seed camellias in full bloom. Mountains covered in white petals seem to be covered with "snow" and an old Chinese saying goes, "a fall of seasonable snow gives promise of a fruitful year."

进入12月，河源连平红星村的白油茶花已经漫山遍野。油茶山上，洁白的花瓣、金色的花蕊，团团簇簇、层层叠叠，深绿的树叶在风中微微摇摆，让气温偏冷的冬天多了几分生机。

不少摄影爱好者和游客闻香而动，前来欣赏拍照，赏花的同时还可以在附近的民宿、农家乐体验当地特色美食，甚是惬意，种满油茶树的小山村俨然成了网红打卡地。

每年10月至翌年2月是广东油茶花开季节，目前，全省油茶中有超过100万亩处于盛花期，花开正艳。满山芬芳尽染“雪”，繁花似锦兆丰年的景象在各地油茶山随处可见。
