At 9:38 p.m. on December 20, the 900,000-kilowatt (kW) offshore wind farm of CGNPC (China General Nuclear Power Group) Shanwei Jiazi officially realized full-capacity grid-connected power generation, marking the completion and operation of the largest affordable offshore wind farm in China. In doing so, the construction of the CGNPC Shanwei offshore shallow water 1.4 million kilowatts offshore wind power project came to a close.

The project can provide Guangdong Province with more than 4.5 billion kilowatt hours of clean electric energy every year, which can reduce the consumption of standard coal by about 1.45 million tons and Carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by about 3.5 million tons, equivalent to about 9000 hectares of afforestation.

12月20日9时38分，中广核汕尾甲子90万千瓦海上风电场正式实现全容量并网发电，标志着全国最大的平价海上风电场建成投运，也标志着中广核汕尾近海浅水区140万千瓦海上风电项目全面建成投产。

该基地每年可为广东省提供清洁电能超45亿千瓦时，可等效减少标煤消耗约145万吨，减少二氧化碳排放量约350万吨，相当于植树造林约9000公顷。
