Since New Year's Day this year, 24 parks in Guangzhou have set up pilot tent areas. Some parks have designated areas where residents and visitors can pitch tents for more diverse ways of leisure.

During the park's operating hours, residents can set up small and medium-sized household tents on the park's lawn. The area of the tent is required to be less than 5 square meters, the height is not more than 1.5 meters, and nails are not allowed. Also, tents cannot be fully enclosed. Due to space limitations, some parks will limit the number of tents. For example, in Luhu Park, up to 30 tents can be set up on the lawn.
The parks also take a variety of measures to maintain lawns, mainly including lawn opening time planning and lawn maintenance. For example, the lawns of Yuntai Garden and Luhu Park have been opened at different time periods and areas. Mornings and evenings are the time for watering, while workdays are time for lawn care.
"It is recommended that tourists play on the lawn between 10 am and 4 pm on weekends or holidays." Staff of one park said. If the lawn is undergoing special maintenance such as root thinning, mowing, fertilizing or spraying, it will be temporarily closed, and the situation will be announced in advance. Parks will try to rotate maintenance work between the two lawns to meet the needs of tourists. The grasses of the lawns in each park are of the resistant varieties, and professional technicians are regularly invited to check the growth conditions of the lawns and adjust the lawn management measures in time.
