A “picky” new friend -- Megapleonum Shenzhen, a new species living in the water of Shenzhen Ecological Reserve. It is the second member of the genus Megalodon and is endemic to Shenzhen. According to the discoverer Huang Chao, although Shenzhen is a prosperous modern city, it has protected many forests and streams from development, providing a home for many aquatic creatures. Biodiversity is not only a region’s natural heritage, but also a genetic treasure house. For us, the best protection is not to interfere artificially.
