The Consular Corps toured to Zhanjiang and visited its major industrial, agricultural and marine projects from July 28 to 30. The tour was organized by the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office.
Liu Hongbing, Party Secretary of Zhanjiang, met with the Consular Corps andmadean introduction of Zhanjiang and its pillar industries on July 29.
Located on the southernmost tip of the Chinese mainland, Zhanjiang is a transport hub equipped with airport, railway station, deep-water port and comprehensive expressway network. According to the plan, Zhanjiang will be developed into an economic engine in China’s modern coastal economic belt and involved in the coordinated development with Hainan province.
The Consular Corps visit ZhongKe(Guangdong)Refinery& Petrochemical Company Limited, a large refinery and petrochemical project in Zhanjiang.
Beh Ching Chye, Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, said the trip gave them a better understanding of Guangdong’s 14th Five-year Plan as well as the regional development of Zhanjiang. “The trip is also a very good chance to promote the exchange and cooperation between our countries and Guangdong, especially Zhanjiang in the post-covid era,” he said.
