Xiaoshu (小暑, xiǎoshǔ), also known as Minor Heat, is the eleventh of the twenty-four solar terms in the lunar calendar, indicating the official start of summer. After Xiaoshu, Guangzhou turns on its charming summer mode with the sunflowers in Huacheng Square in full bloom and the sparkling waves of the Pearl River flowing under the Haixin Bridge.
