An encounter with the greatest Italian artist Raffaello in GZ

Are you still thinking about what to do on this weekend? How about have an unexpected encounter with Raffaello, one of the 'three masters of art' in Renaissance?

An exhibition "The Art of Raffaello: Opera Omnia" opened on March 11th in Guangzhou Library. Mr. Fang Jiazhong, the director of Guangzhou Library, and Ms. Lucia Pasqualini, consul general of Italy in Guangzhou delivered the opening speech.

Through combining technology with art, the exhibition is a full-scale reproduction of 36 works in high definition, showcasing the artistic path of Raffaello in different stages of his painting evolution.

A flash performance based on Raphael's artworks became the highlight of the ceremony before a guided tour given by Professor Alessandro Antonicelli.

2020 marked the 500-year anniversary of Raffaello Sanzio's (1483 - 1520) death. The exhibition is the 34th stop of a multi-culture library-trip around the world in remembrance of this greatest Renaissance painter.

The exhibition will continue until April 25th with a variety of follow-up activities to be held in Guangzhou Library, including guided tours, a painting workshop, reading sharing sessions, the Renaissance in movies and books.
