"This city stands at the forefront of yet another transformation: turning initial scientific discoveries into green materials that help build a sustainable future. I am speaking of Dongguan." Speaking at the Dongguan Sub-forum of the Asia-Pacific Media Forum (APMF), Professor Dr.-Ing. Volker Altstädt, Chief Scientist at Hailex New Materials Co., Ltd, drew on his years of observation to offer this assessment of Dongguan, a city renowned as the "world's factory."

On September 3rd, the forum themed "Asia-Pacific Transformation: New Path for Digitalization, Smart Technology and Green Development" was held at the OPPO Binhai Bay Campus in Dongguan. Guests from China and abroad shared their insights and delivered thought-provoking perspectives on the topic.

Muhammad Zahir Shah, Director News at Bol TV in Pakistan, also noted that while promoting industrial growth, Dongguan has consistently emphasized the importance of green symbiosis.

"Dongguan's practice of advancing industry-city integration while implementing a low-carbon transition has created a model of green and sustainable development that can offer lessons for the rest of the world," he said. He emphasized that the low-carbon transition is not merely a technological innovation, but also represents a systemic transformation in urban development and industrial organization. Dongguan provides a clear example of this transformation, and its experience can provide valuable insights for global development.

Digitalization, intelligentization, and green development have become a shared direction for industrial transformation and upgrading across the Asia-Pacific region.

"At this new stage of development, we no longer rely solely on scale to succeed. Instead, we are setting our sights on becoming a global smart manufacturing hub, promoting the deep integration of manufacturing with digital, intelligent, and green technologies, and accelerating a systemic transition toward value-driven intelligent manufacturing," said Ye Huiming, Director of the Dongguan Municipal Development and Reform Bureau.

让海外媒体人惊叹的，是“世界工厂”那抹“绿色”

9月3日，这场聚焦“数字化智能化绿色化的亚太转型新路径”主题的论坛在东莞滨海湾OPPO园区举办。来自国内外的嘉宾围绕主题各抒己见，发表精彩言论。

巴基斯坦Bol电视台新闻部主任穆罕穆德·查希尔·沙阿（Muhammad Zahir Shah, Director News, Bol TV, Pakistan）同样观察到，东莞在推动产业增长的同时，始终将绿色共生理念放在了重要的位置。

“东莞推进产城融合、同步落地低碳转型的实践，构建了一套可供全球借鉴的绿色生态发展范本。”他表示，低碳转型不只是技术层面的革新，更是城市发展模式与产业组织体系的系统性变革，这一过程在东莞得到充分体现，相关经验完全可以为全球发展提供参考。

数字化、智能化、绿色化，已成为亚太地区产业转型升级的共同选择。

“立足新发展阶段，我们不再单纯依靠规模取胜，而是锚定‘全球智造中心’，推动制造业与数字、智能、绿色深度融合，加快向‘价值智造’系统性跃升。”东莞市发展改革局局长叶惠明说道。
